Last post for 2009!

Ahh, how time flies. :) In less than 2 hours, we bid farewell to 2009, and welcome a hopefully better 2010! Seeing how the world is now, i hope that people everywhere (especially the so called 'world leaders' get their act together; too much in the world is controlled by the greedy few.

Who knows what to expect? Well, the chinese horoscope seemed to be bad for the past few years (always), so come what may, just bring it on! :)

Happy Boxing Day! Um, ok, a bit late. :p It's the 3rd day of x'mas already. Went out to town on day two, and man, everyone is out shopping post christmas... Well, we're just a coupla days away from the last breath of 2009.

Looking forward to my '3 french hens!'

Merry X'mas 2009!

It's here again, in the blink of an eye! A year sure passes by quickly... :) Here's wishing all a blessed and peaceful Christmas!

1 more day!

Ah, It's just around the corner, can you feel it? I prefer christmas to Chinese New Year.. CNY is always so tiring somehow. :P Growing older i guess! Last day of work for me for the year today... man, most everyone in the office was on leave anyway. Well, coupla things to do tomorrow; it's wifey's birthday too! :) Happy Birthday Dar! :D

Just tried the demo for Bayonetta earlier.. most awesome! I love the, ahem, 'climax' moves. :P So aptly named! :p

The weather outside is frightful...

... and so is the shopping crowd! Seems like every M/F/S is out in town shopping, or at least, window shopping. There weren't that many people actually buying gifts, or maybe it's just me? :p

Weathers been dreadful too, think everyone i know has had flu the past coupla days. Tis the season to be flu-ey! GP was nice enough to tell me ' i don't think it is H1N1', thanks doc! :

Well, it's that time of year again, i guess one that i actually look forward to. It's scary how time seems to fly. Each year i tell my buddy 'it'll be christmas soon', and in the blink on an eye, here it is again!

What do i like about christmas? It has this 'feeling', this smell, that is different from all other holidays. I guess it's that one time in the year i can give myself a break, spend some time with my family, and also to reflect on things before the new year rolls in a week later! :D

Another blast from the past..

Recognise this place? :) The corner is now RK...

What a week! :)

Firstly, to my wifey, happy 3rd Anniversary! :D Had lunch over at Pete's place at Hyatt, the captain was nice enough to give us this Choc lava cake as he knew it was our anni. :) Hats off to their service!
Sitex 09 was held this year at Expo... is it me, or does it just get worse each year? There're practically NOTHING on offer, everything is the same SRP, and you probably can get a better selection at SLS, not to mention not having to fight the crowds! :p
Well, long weekend ahead... so this week seems draggier than usual.. but still many things to do! :)

AFA09

Went to AFA09 this evening for the concert starring Yoshiyuki Fukuyama (Macross 7 - Nekki Basara) and May'n (Macross Frontier - Sheryl Nome).
Sorta a dream come true for me; have been listening to his singing since around my poly days... so over 10+ years now? Guy's a great entertainer too, knows how to get the crowd going. :) It was amazing to hear 'Remember 16' and 'Try Again' in acoustic. :) Ahhh...
Fukuyama was followed by May'n, who started off with the new movie single 'Pink Monsoon'.. followed by some other songs from her new album... but it was only when she switched back to Macross F songs that the crowded went crazy again. :)
And the final encore? BOTH Fukuyama and May'n with Acoustic duet renditions of 'Diamond Crevasse' and 'Dynamite'... Woooootz! Concert to remember! :D

Been too long!

Wow, when was the last time i posted? :p Pic on the left was taken from the 60th floor of Banyan Tree Bangkok. Really nice view from there, plus it's windy! :p Kinda Scary actually!
Let's see, completed COD : MW2 a few days ago, story is interesting, but perhaps not as coherent as MW1, a lot of shocks, but i wonder if they were placed there just for the sake of it?
Well, it's only a month away to Christmas... how time flies. :) Another year come and gone again!
Next week is Sitex.... gotta get more storage man. :p Running low, it's become a quarterly affair now buying storage!

Level 10! Power up!

Had a small gathering for one colleague who was leaving the company. We decided on Sunset Pub and Grill which was located at the old Seletar Army Barracks. The pub itself was located right beside an airfield runway, and offered a great view of the sunset (hence the name).

The star of the place is their special buffalo wings, which are graded from level 1 to level 10 (although they have a level 30 which if you finish half a dozen, they'll give you a cert).

We started out with the level 2, which was kinda zingy, but tolerable. Another colleague said "why not we try level 8?"... ( That's in the pic above).... not a good idea!

First your tongue gets numb... then your lips start burning... then your eyes start tearing up, and you slowly find it difficult to breathe. Tips? The beer helps, but don't pause cos that's when it REALLY starts to hurt.

What do they drink when someone eats a Level 10 wing? We were told by the staff that they'll order milk. ;)

The End is Nigh!

It's been a scary few days, Firstly typhoon Ketsana tearing into Phillipines and Vietnam, then an 8.0 magnitude earthquake 32m under the ocean caused a tsunami which hit Samoa and reached as far as Japan. Then hours later, another earthquake shakes Indonesia, and the tremors i believe were felt here in Sillypore...

Perhaps there's a pattern to all this, are we really causing our own doom by abusing the environment, or is this all supposed to happen regardless? Well, i for one don't remember the August/September period being so warm and humid before. Heck, i wonder how well prepared we are if a tsunami hits us, just a small one will be disasterous.

EFF 1 Rawks Sillypore!

Ah, it's the F1 weekend here in Singapore! What does this mean? Traffic jams and paying up to a months salary to see a car zip by in less time than it takes to blow your nose!
But really, it's quite fascinating and all, the technicalities behind the sport. I'm no F1 guru myself,; i'm just like most people who are intrigued by this multi-million dollar sport. If not for the fact that is such a 'divatastic' sport; drivers and teams throwing hissy fits every other time, i think F1 should be banned as a sport. It's just an excuse to ask for million dollar sponsorships if you ask me.
Well, our 'great' nation jumped onto this too because why? We don't want to lose out to Country X who actually has a proper racetrack... this is so... typical.
Well, i say for the next F1, but up ERP gantries along the course and let's see how much they chalk up in costs for 61 laps! ;)

Mission : Impossible

Here i am in the Bintan IT office on a saturday morning! Was sent here cos the IT guy here is going back to Jakarta for Hari raya celebrations. Was here in the afternoon yesterday, and will be here till Monday afternoon... woootz!

I'm being put up in the small house near the BT lobby, it's called the "GM's house", but don't let the name fool you! It's nothing as glamourous as the other villas, or even those at Angsana. But the basics are all there... at least there's cable, but no internet... (booooooo!)

Well, wifey will be joining me this afternoon, so won't be TOO boring already! :p

Home Sweet Home!

Ah, back after 3 days in Phuket, was there for a SAP workshop, which turned out quite... enjoyable. :) It was raining quite often there though! :p

Touched down this afternoon at T2, man, is it hot in Singapore or what? Thais are polite ppl, unlike chao Sillyporean with bad atitude and no civic mindedness whatsoever... there is calming effect to Thailand's 'undevelopedness'... perhaps sillypore has gone beyond the point of return... the old man knows that.

Back to topic, the workshop was held over 3 days, of which a few of us were not involved in the first day... so... shopping! Went to canal village.. which was pretty quiet. After the workshop on the 2nd day, a group of us went to Patong to shop at Jungceylon. It's not a crazy crowded place like ION in town, there was SPACE to move about without knocking into some 'New Citizen'.. yay!

Anyway, there's this cool airsoft shop i want to go back to, called 'Megaforce'. Basically you can rent airsoft rifles of all types for a certain duration, 300 baht nets you a semi M4 CQB for 20mins, 500 for 40mins and it's a full auto version... too cool. :)

Well, i DO miss my bed, and things here that are precious to me. Perhaps another trip there again one day! ;)

ODST

Check this video out! Looks better than GI JOE fer sure. :p

The Bee

Checked out the Chevrolet roadshow at Suntec this afternoon with wifey, we actually went to look at the new Chevrolet Cruze, but the Camaro ( famous as "Bumblebee" in the Transformers movie ) was on display too! Now THIS is an american muscle car, everything about it screams BIG. It looks like it can take a AT round and survive!
Needless to say, quite a few kids were milling about it, the SE even joked that "Transformation features cost extra... " Ow.
Well, the main reason to be there was the cruze anyway, sweet car, but made in Korea, nice 16" rims, boot was spacious, interior was not too shabby although i hated the cloth interior... this car weighs over a TON though! (1.3 to be exact..) and it's engine only coughs out 107bhp.... i asked the SE about the weight, and he said.. "stable what...", of farking course lar, you'll say anything to sell it! :p
General reviews say pickup is slow. (expected) and FC may be high. Well haven't test drive it yet, so hard to say. Anywayz, prices suck for cars now. Can't be too fussy, but i do want a decent Pt. A to Pt B. car... so what to do? :p

Rant rant!

Whoa, been almost 2 weeks since i last updated? :p Well, been on course for the most of this week, gettin' trained at Avantus training centre at CPF building. Never really like that area too much, feel most of the people there are like zombies. But the convienience of having the MRT nearby is great. Plus some good food centres around the area.

Got a shock news from my colleague that he resigned on Tuesday. Whoa, that was a sucker punch. But then again, his salary wasn't too high, plus he has a 'wife' ( Suzuki Swift ) to support. Plus with the recent cut in pay, it's no joke.

Well, i wish him all the best! He's a great guy, and i hope he flourishes out there. :)

PS3 Slim

Probably the worse kept 'secret' from sony ever! Wonder why they vehemently denied it's existence when pics from the production floor were all over the place...

It's nice and sleek now! With a 120GB HDD, it's "33% smaller and 36% lighter..." sweet... ;) Retails at $299, and arrives in Sept! :D

I'll show these pics to my PS3 to make it go on a diet! :p

More news here.

Yo..... Joe?

Caught the GI JOE : Rise of Cobra live action movie today with my wifey, cinema was basically empty save a few couples here and there, i won't go into the habits of moviegoers ( fer cryin' out loud, i don't appreciate people kicking the back of my seat! ), that's for another time....

Overall, not too bad a movie, again, nothing great either. It pays homage to the comics with references here and there (yes, i know breaker likes to chew gum). The downer was the inclusion of Marlon Wayans for comic relief, thankfully he wasn't too off the top, but he still seems too out of place, PLUS what the F were the writers thinking? Ripcord (whom Wayans plays) as a love interest for Scarlett? Hello? Ripcord wasn't even a black man in the first place.

Did i mention Duke was boring? They could probably take all his scenes out and it wouldn't have made a difference. Still some saving points here and there, Snake Eyes was cool, but woefully underused, and of course, we're watching the movie for the Baroness (drool) who was so gosh darn cool for 2/3's of the show... till she started spazzing and all...

Oh, Scarlett is super hot, but after lip locking with Ripcord, i don't think i'll even d/l this movie. Entertaining movie for which there'll sure to be a sequel. Do something about ripcord, and i'll consider getting the bluray for part 2. I give this a 6.5/10.

Perseid Meteor Shower

Too bad i can't catch this.. or have a camera good enough to capture it on film!

"The Perseids are a prolific meteor shower associated with the comet Swift-Tuttle. The Perseids are so called because the point they appear to come from, called the radiant, lies in the constellation Perseus. The stream in this case is called the Perseid cloud and it stretches along the orbit of the Comet Swift-Tuttle. The cloud consists of particles ejected by the comet as it passes by the Sun. Most of the dust in the cloud today is approximately a thousand years old. However, there is also a relatively young filament of dust in the stream that was pulled off the comet in 1862. The rate of meteors originating from this filament is much higher than for the older part of the stream."

We're gonna get this about 2am today, more news here.

Asian undersea cable disruption slows Internet access

Again? Man, they gotta stop cutting those cables! No wonder certain properties had issues connecting, and access to the net seemed a tad slower too. :P

On the Fringe!

Caught a interesting series called FRINGE on Monday, it's like cross between X-files, twilight zone, and all other movies/series which had conspiracy theories. At least the lead actress is not bad a looker (Anna Torv - tell me she doesn't look like Cate Blanchett), PLUS she appeared in undies in the very first episode! (Scully... flashbacks... mosquitos...)
Anyway, the first episode dealt with some flesh eating bacteria, the by products of which looked like the gooey bodies from the first X-files movie. The pacing was pretty ok, and the cast was competent, even Walter the "Steward of Gondor" Bishop (John Noble) was pretty funny!
I hope Abrams doesn't make this show as convoluted as lost, as much as i like to solve little riddles and symbols scattered all over the place! He DID make the new Trek movie which i enjoyed pretty much, so, some hope there!
Here's a little trivia : Anna Torv (Olivia Dunham) is actually married to her 1 episode co-star John Scott (Mark Valley).. life imitating art? Plus he's 15 years older than her! 0_0;

MMmmm... M Burger...

Had a Ramly Burger this evening, and it's been a while since i've eaten one; it's always so 'jelat' to eat, with overflowing sauce and condiments. They even have a website. (Shock and horrors!)
Still quite shiok to eat, cheaper than a Mac D's. Surprisingly, i didn't know that the patties were banned from import into Singapore? And that most we eat at the Pasar Malam's have been smuggled in... :)

Well it's about time! :)

One game i spent countless hours on during my secondary school days was "X-wing" (1993) by then indie game studio Lucasarts. I remember running it on my old 486-SX25 with 8MB (Yes, 8MB) ram.. did i mention it was run from (five) 3.5" diskettes? CD-ROM technology was only emerging then, and only much later on the compilations did they release it to CD.

Xwing was followed by Imperial pursuit and Bwing; the graphics then were revolutionary, (well, to me at least) the music was great and it handled flawlessly... It was followed by the equally successful TIE fighter game series, then Xwing vs Tie fighter and finally stopped at Xwing Alliance (Which i have yet to complete).
It's been like, over 10 years? And FINALLY, a good piece of news... with today's technology, it's about time!!!

Check it out. :)

CThulu Rises!!! 6 Insane Discoveries That Science Can't Explain

Check this out, too cool man! Scary is that there's technology or materials that shouldn't be there, and with all our technowizardry nowadays, we can't even explain it!

Excerpt " The Voynich manuscript is an ancient book that has thwarted all attempts at deciphering its contents. And it's not like some idiot just scribbled a bunch of nonsense on paper and went, "Figure THIS out, fuckwads." It is actually an organized book with a consistent script, discernible organization and detailed illustrations."
Also check out this and this! ;) Good reads.

Just a dream...

Had a pretty disturbing dream recently, this happened Saturday afternoon while i was taking a nap. I dreamt i was in this big shopping centre, atypical of your suburban malls. I was a circular mall, and i was going up this escalator. I remember beign there to buy some books, it was quite bright in the mall.

Suddenly, my 'phone' rang, and i saw that it was my buddy who called me, so i answered with a 'yoz what's up!'.

There was a pause, and i heard his voice, almost breaking, but saying : "my mum passed away ben"... i was really shocked, and felt sick to the stomach... i woke up shortly after, and almost immediately SMS'ed him, before realising it was just a dream.

I still felt kinda ill after that, like my mind was telling me something like that happened. Well, i believe that all of us will pass one day. The day will come when my own parents, siblings and relatives will all pass to the other side.

But in dreams, death is only symbolic. It usually means change or growth in some way... buddy, didn't mean to freak you out man, sorry about that!

R.I.P Jacko...

Quite shocking news, it all came suddenly, especially since he was supposed to have had a final tour come July. Who can forget the catchy tunes he sung? In spite of his wierdness at times, you gotta admit, this guy was a musical genius.

I can still remember playing Moonwalker on the SEGA Genesis, had lotsa fun with that. :)

So Michael, wherever you are now, may you have the peace so often denied you in life.

The Pacific

Too cool. :) I love the HBO "Band of Brothers" miniseries, dunno how many times i've watched it. There'll be another miniseries from Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks about the USMC's actions in the Pacific Theatre of War.

Watch the trailer here.

Almost Friday!

Wooo! What a long week it's been! Also been a while since i updated. Just got back from dinner with my buddy colin and wifey. Wanted to eat at Aston's, but place was closed. :( Chomps was packed too, so we headed to the market to eat. :)

Following a short anime series called K-ON!, it's basically about 4 girls and their friendship during their formation/revival of a defunct school club called the "Light Music Club". The songs are catchy, and the tunes are fun. :)

Well, on 1/2 day leave tomorrow, i don't really have anything planned! : But thankfully it's Friday.

Breaking News! - Attaku!

In response to the threat posed by North Korea, Japan has unveiled it's top secret project against the communist threat. "We were forced to speed up this project as the north korean's missile launches have destabilised the peace in the region" says Japan's Minister for Defence, General Amuro Rey.

Codenamed "GUNDAM", this 18m tall robot is poised to go active anytime soon, and hopefully will kick Kim Jong Il's keester into the next world! :p

... but seriously, check out the real thing here, it was built to commemorate the 30th Anniversary of Gundam... man, it'll be a sight for sore eyes!

That's Life...

Well, weekend has come and gone reeeal fast! WTH, Din go anywhere on Sat cos the weather was too DARNED HOT! Buzzed my chopper for a bit, have a phobio of crashing the darn thing, but i told myself, wtf, if i keep kiddy-gloves on the chopper, i'll never learn! So i pushed it a bit more and tweaked the gain a bit... and at LEAST managed to have a few seconds of hover! Not very good, but slowly... slowly.. :p It's a beyotch to wait for the battery to charge though... need.. more.. packs..!

Sunday was spent visiting my grampa, who has been in hospital for almost a month. From the first day he was admitted till today, he has made a amazingly marked improvement; his speech is more coherent and his sentences make a bit more sense now, he can chat and carry out simple conversations... and sometimes say funny things... :p it'll take some time for his motor skills to come back, and rehab is needed. He'll prob go to THK hosp at AMK for a month or two. For a man of 82, who's gone through so much in life, it's sad for this to happen; he wanted to travel to a few places still. But regardless, we'll stand by him...

Life's like that, you never know what surprises there are around the corner, and we always 'never have the time' until you realise it's too late... I guess it's the human condition.. or is it complacency? Well, hope this week will be fine.. it's just another week again though! Time ticks away....

To Boldly Go...

Caught the new Star Trek movie today by JJ Abrams, decided to watch it after generally favourable reviews... plus i find TNG and Enterprise pretty cool to watch anyway. :) (No, i'm not a trekkie!)

This movie IS a reboot from the original series, without too many spoilers, i can say that it's an alternate timeline or reality from TOS. They've also got a new younger cast for the crew, chief of all is Chris Pines as James T. Kirk and Syl... uh, Zachary Quinto as Spock. Most of the other characters are ok, maybe a bit overacted ( esp. Uhura who was like a stuck up beyotch in heat, and Leonard "I'm a Doctor, not a physicist" McCoy.)

But the pacing was good, and the action non-stop. This took away the smaller flaws in the movie and made it immensely fun to watch. Thumbs up, definately more interesting than wolverine, i'd give this show a 7.5/10.

Shoryuken!

Ok, i suck at SF4, so dun challenge me k? :p There's a certain depth to 2D fighters; and i'll always be amazed at how ppl throw out the moves so easily! :D

Was on leave today, so had lunch out with my wifey. Weekend was spent at a preview of the circle line... yes, rode the train from Serangoon to Bartley, then to Marymount and back to serangoon... It'll be good when it opens this week, at least it'll be easier to go back home from Bishan! :)

Caught Wolverine over the weekend, so-so show, the effects are nothing we've not seen before. Pacing was ok, but man, was gambit gay! And the bone claw thing... always found the idea cheesy... :p Well, it's gonna be a short week, office is closed this Friday for "Eat (with) your family day"... ;)

Dreams?

Ah! I reminded my self to put this down before i forget! Had a wierd dream two days ago, but real vivid; i was (of course) in some other place, i now can't remember the details, but it was this old house which is kinda like a farm, you know, those thachted one with clay and all, i think it had two floors... anyway, in one part of the dream, there were a lot of poor/tired people suddenly approaching the house, so i started preparing the kitchen and getting drinks for them...

... anyway, next thing i knew, i was looking across something like a savannah, i can still remember what it was like, it was dawn, and there were some animals in the foreground. There was something like a river in the distance, and beyond that, there were two trees.

Both trees had a beautiful shaft of light shining down on both of them at an angle. I told myself i had to take a picture, so i took out my cameraphone (yes, my phone :p) but before i could take the view, the light shining on the tree right in front faded away; there was still light on the other tree.

But the large tree now had a backdrop of thousands of stars against a purple sky... man, it was beautiful... i could almost smell the clean air.

Am i going crazy? I dunno, but it was all so vivid and real.... :)

Monday post!

Ah, another week begins anew! Din really have a fab weekend; most of it was spent sleeping off a fever i caught on Saturday... and myteriously as it came, the next day i was fine! Still, din go out much, and rotted at home. :P

Brought my King 3 up to "flightworthy" status, so decided to fire it up for a bit, darn thing kept spinning in circles! Then realised i had the tail belt reversed. After that was fixed i throttled up for some flight; highest i got was like 2 inches off the ground as the was twitchy as hell!

Robo on the right is the 1/60 scale VF-11B from Macross Plus, just released about 2 weeks ago. This is the latest iteration of this toy, previous ones were in 1/72 scale, and weren't too sturdy. This one is not too bad, except the arms go only to 90 degrees (why not double jointed like the VF-1's?) Anyway, lucky i decided to open it, as i discovered a major problem; they gave me TWO of the fast packs on the legs of the same side! WTF, sure touch 4D lor, anyway, managed to make a swap, so all's well!

Update for the week..

Ah, been a bit since i've updated this. Found out on Tuesday night that my granddad has a fall at home and was admitted to hospital. Apparently he had a mild stroke and fell against the fridge in the kitchen.

He had some haemorraging in the brain so he's under observation. He's not out of the woods yet even though he looked pretty ok just now, he couldn't talk, but could grip our hands, and opened his eyes to see us. I guess it feels better now that i have seen him, it sucks not knowing how he is. :p

We'll all praying that he recovers, and with rehabilitation, gets better.

Latest Haul and a visit to the rc doc...

I know i'm supposed to cut down on things like this... but these were pre-ordered months ago, so i had to collect them right? ;) On the left is the 1/100 VF-25S from Macross Frontier, it's a 'partsfomer', as in not a perfect transformation like the 1/60 series from Yamato.

I don't think i'll collect the rest (although i do still have one on preorder); too expensive and spindly to be worth the money. On the right is the Bandai 1/60 VF-25 "Messiah" with super pack.. the bot i got a while ago, but the armor was what i got. It's a web exclusive from Bandai... bastiches... thinking of all ways to make money!

VF-11B and VF-1A Max also out... ouch. :p

On another note, learned a few things today :

1) 6ch CCPM helis are REALLY loud.
2) At full throttle, you can lose your limbs if you're not careful
3) 6ch CCPM helis crash REALLY HARD.

WTF, i had training gear on and i still kinda smashed it... but i wasn't prepared for the power it put out.. it's a monster! Well, it's out of action until the replacement parts come in! Oh, one other thing... ball link pliers are a MUST! :)

Home again!

Ahh... good to be back after a week of NS training. :) It really wasn't so long cos of the labor day holidays in the middle, but being in camp, time goes by soooo sloowwwwllyyyy..... :p

This is the 8th ICT, next will be a 3 day low key sometime in June 2010, wow. Is it me, or is cookhouse food progressively getting worse? It was ok for the first 3 days or so ( briyani, etc ), then they started having crappier and crappier food for the last 3 days. Urgh, they should just stick to all food being fried, and all will be ok!

Well, back to work tomorrow, a different battlefield! :P

Post for the weekend...

Went AGAIN to rotor at kitchener, the people there must recognise me by now! :p Anyway, went and got myself a E-sky King 3 RC copter. :p I only did that cos i told myself that i would get it if the shop had it.. and didn't expect them to!
Quite sweet this baby, it has a very solid feel to it, and access to the inner parts is easier.. uh.. the manual is so-so, typical china english... :p
Another reason why i got this is cost, for a 400-450 copter, this is cheap... the total cost is not even enough to buy a good JR or Futaba controller! :p I figured i'd get used to bashing this 6-channel first before i move to bashing a $800+ chopper!
Weeelll... no time to fly it anyway! Battery is still charging!!! : And i'm booking in for the remainder of my ICT tomorrow... so prob only next week then will i have a chance to test fly.. :)

IRON MAN MK II

Ooooo! Toy poison, Hot Toys from HK has been churning out really good stuff lately, like the Appleseed Deunan/Briareos 12" figs, The Joker deluxe fig, and recently the RE5 figures. Just out is the Iron Man MK II armor (which tony stark used for testing before building the MKIII armor) and it's too cool. :)

This is all pretty impressive as i think their headscuplts beat most other 12" manufacturers out there, even medicom i feel. Another one to check out is Enterbay whose Bruce Lee, Godfather and 24 Jack Bauer figures rock.

Check out the review of the MK II here.

Finally... new mammary rendering technology!

Hehe, it's about time! Aren't we all sick of the oversized jiggly bits? ;)

Check out the news here.

Back for the weekend!

Ah.. time flies! Was just in yesterday morning for my ICT, and here i am back home for the labour day weekend. As usual, time was spent waiting, i guess things could have been sped, but this is as efficient as the army gets.. :p

Day one was first aid and weapons handling tests, we had a night's off, so went to clementi and IMM to walk. :) Got up early this morning to wait ( see? it's becoming a theme ) for the bus, and headed to PLC for a simulated shoot. It was a 'high-tech' shoot, impressive technology, but man, millions of dollars and as my buddy says, no better graphics than quake?

Well, i didn't get to shoot at all cos i was sitting at the back juggling beteen 'tasks' (can't elaborate here in case this page is seen.. ;p )

Haha, my question is, wtf do the amphibious tanks drop the men off 200m from the shoreline, and expect them to swim ashore? :)

This weekend! :D

Yum! 25th was anni for wifey and me, so headed down to shokudo at Heeren to makan! It was not very packed, so seating wasn't an issue.
Started the day off by heading down to kitchener to pick up spares for my chopper... man! They're running out of spares! But i've already gotten a few upgrades for the V4... swapped out for xtreme blades and motors, got a battery surge protector. Also tried out a few mods to the heli.

Changed the servo horns to longer ones, it extended the servo range of motion, but made it really jumpy! :P Guess i won't be fiddling too much with it anymore, time to move on... to something like this perhaps? ;) Now, THAT'S sweet! I saw another RC shop at Fook Hai Building which had the innovator, so it'd be interesting to see how much they charge for it.

Anyway's going in-camp on wednesday, so now doing the ardous task of packing!

Games to look forward to...

Bayonetta! Looking better and better, hair as clothes? Check! Guns in boots? Check!

Seems to be slow flow of games coming in, but some to check out are Velvet Assasin, Bionic Commando, COD:MW2, Ghostbusters. Battlefield : BC2, Halo 3 : ODST, Lost Planet 2 and Dead Rising 2! (Notice how many are sequels?)

Replayed COD4 recently, man, now that's a good game i feel, all the elements of a good game are there, more importantly, the pacing is great.

Then again, if the formula works, there's no need to change it; case in point, DoW2 and CoH:ToV... :p

Sweettt.... New Mazda 3

Came across this on the intertubes, was never really interested in the mazda series of cars, with the exception of their RX-8 of course. Mazda cars have a reputation of being fuel guzzlers due to their heavy body weight vs. underpowered engines.
But the 2009/2010 Mazda 3 caught my eye; it's like they cross bred a rx-8/mazda 3sp/peugeot car to make this! Apparently they're using the engine of the Mazda 6....
But here's the kicker, it costs US$19,000 for a Sports version in the States.
It's launching this Saturday (25th April) in sillypore. My estimates? $70K for the no frills 1.6(A) version.
Thanks LTA/Laolee! I hope you all managed to buy your summer homes! :p

Adieu and all the best!

Had a farewell lunch today for a colleague who's leaving to further her studies in Germany, headed down to beauty world with a few other coligs and decided to try out a Korean restaurant at the top floor.
What you see at the side are just the side-dishes which are sorta free flow! Kimchi, sweet potato, some veges and mussels.... main dish was BBQ pork, and the portion was generous. :) Still feel that the shop at the former Meridian hotel is better though! But still, not too shabby!

Another day.. :)

Whew! Another day at work over... :) Rather quiet actually, seems a lot of people are on leave.

Soon it'll be time to serve the Nation again! :p Although it's only a week, it should be an eyeopener...

First Post!

Well, i guess it's be interesting to put up stuff i have bought/seen/heard/eaten. Guess now's a good time as any!

Recently got into RC helis... i'm no pro mind you. My only other experience is with the PicooZ micro copter. My buddy recently got a very cool Syma S002 copter, which is a 3 channel beast compared to the Picoo... plus it flew really well!

That got me looking for a copter too (thanks buddy! :p), and after browsing through the web, i decided on the Esky Lama V4 chopper... man, i didn't know what i was getting into! Suffice to say, a electric RC chopper is a different thing altogether.

This is the Lama V4...
... not this. :p

The Lama V4 is a 4-channel co-ax copter, so no tailrotor needed. It's ready to fly outta the box, so just charge the battery, and off you go! Simple right? No way! It's pays to spend a few hours to get a hang of the controller and the four channels - throttle, rudder, elevator, aileron.... as they say... "simple to learn, difficult to master"!

Getting this is my first step to another class of choppers, the 6-channel ones......... considering a TT Mini Titan or the Align Trex 450/500... but i really gotta think carefully... expensive hobby! :)
