SDCC 2015 Devastator

Wow, looks like the exclusive TF for this years SDCC is a variant of Devastator! More bling since it's chromed purple.. and has a different head sculpt? But... why purple chrome? :( Interesting packaging tho, it's gonna be biggggg....

Platinum Edition Trypticon!

Wow, so the rumor of Trypticon came true hehe. Not too shabby! Kinda glad that they're releasing this, as i never got this when it was released. :) Wonder if it'll still have the electronic features tho? Better pic when there is one! :p

TakaraTomy Superion!

Oooo... i've always liked how the Japanese package the combiners! No worry about having any of the limbs scalped at retail! :)

Hot Toys Iron Man Mk XLV

Haha, not unexpected! This was announced alongside the Iron Legion drones seen in AoU, it's diecast too, but looks kinda.... Bulky somehow? The lines are nice and sleek though. :p well, this is prob the last armor till he appears in Civil War haha.

SH Figuarts Hulkbuster

At this point it's kinda expected i guess? The size will be more reasonable than the Hot Toys version, and costs about 24,000yen, quarter the price of the HT version :)

The 7 Trumpets

Wow been a while since i've read the line, but just a train of thought following from my buddy's post. Maybe we're misinterpreting what these trumpets are.. to me i believe that they are milestones which will lead to our doom. So far looks like mankind's been sounding off their own trumpet...

First Trumpet
Upon the first trumpet sound, hail and fire, mixed with blood, is thrown to the Earth burning up a third of the trees on the planet, and all green grass.(probably talking about the environmental destruction going on already)

Second Trumpet
By the second trumpet sounding, it cues something like a great burning mountain that plunges into the sea and wipes out a third of all sea life and ships. A third of the oceans will become blood.

Third Trumpet
By the sound of the third trumpet, a great star called Wormwood falls to the Earth poisoning a third of the planet's freshwater sources, such as rivers and springs. Men will die from drinking its bitter taste. (Fukushima? Or that could be the 2nd trumpet and the 3rd trumpet is a meteor or something again)

Fourth Trumpet
Following the sounding of the fourth trumpet, a third of the light that shines from the Sun, moon and stars became dark from these celestial bodies being "struck". This catastrophe caused complete darkness for a third of a day, during the day, even through night hours. ( I wonder what "Struck" means? Seems to have a lot of incoming incidents involving celestial bodies, stray meteors?)

Fifth Trumpet
The fifth trumpet sound is the "first Woe" of three. Before this trumpet sounds, an angel (translated eagle in some versions) appears, flying in mid-heaven, and warns, "Woe, woe, woe, to those who dwell on the earth, because of the remaining blasts of the trumpet of the three angels who are about to sound!"

The fifth trumpet prompts a personified star to fall from heaven. The star is given the key to the bottomless pit. After opening it, the smoke that rises out, darkens the air and blocks the sunlight. Then from out of the smoke, the Locusts were unleashed.(Nukes?) They were scorpion tailed warhorses, having a man's face with lion's teeth.(I remember somewhere that the those from the past who had seen into the future could only describe the items as best as they could given their time, so it could be a weapon or a logo they might have seen) Their hair was long like that of a woman's and flew with locust-like wings. They were crowned with golden crowns and protected with iron-like breastplates. They were commanded by their king, Abaddon, to torment any man who does not have the seal of God on their forehead, by using their scorpion-like tails. It was also made clear to them that they must not kill anyone during their five-month mission of torment. (heck, interesting they have a timeline!)

Sixth Trumpet
Five months after the fifth trumpet blast, the sixth one sounds. This is the "Second woe", where four angels are released from their binds to the "great river Euphrates". They command a brute force of 200 million mounted troops (probably only China or Russia would have that many troops) whose horses dissipate plague from out of their mouths, most notably: fire, smoke, and brimstone. The mounted horsemen wore breastplates with the color of fire, hyacinth, and brimstone. The horses had a lion's head and their tails were like a serpent, even with a snake head. They are responsible for the deaths of a third of mankind who are stricken by the plague that emanated from these armies.

Seventh Trumpet
The sound of the seventh trumpet signals the "Third woe". This is the final trumpet sound and the final woe. Loud voices in heaven proclaim Christ as ruler forever and ever under the "Kingdom of our Lord". Thanks is given to God, the Almighty and praise for the wrath that came, the dead who were judged, and the bond-servants rewarded. The temple of God in heaven then opened and the Ark of the covenant appeared in His temple. Then lightning and peals of thunder occurred followed by an earthquake and a great hailstorm.

Combiner Wars - Warpath

I initially wasn't too interested in this version of warpath; found him a bit too skinny and the proportions a bit off. However, after getting him out of the packaging, the figure turned out to be more than meets the eye! (Haha)

The transformation is kinda interesting in the way the lower legs form the whole lower half of the "tank", the turret is way too big, making him look top heavy and less like a tank; actually, i'd call this warpath more a mobile artillery piece.

The articulation is ok, although the thighs could have a bit more movement in it. Overall, a pretty good toy!

Combiner Wars - Viper

Just opened up this fellow, nice! Realised that the face of Viper is kinda like Wild Weasel's ;)

Goat?

Goat... from Goat Simulator.... Nuff Said. :p

Haul for Sunday!

So popped over to Metro paragon, lo and behold! They had First Aid and lotsa Blades again haha.

But interestingly, they also had the new wave of the smaller figs! That includes Groove, Warpath and the awesome Viper, which is actually a repaint of powerglide, but is in decepticon colors and meant to look like a Cobra rattler! Even has the Cobra logo! Too cool. :)

Toys R Us

Whoa, free torso when u buy the limbs! Not bad!

Haul for the day!

Happened to chance across some protectobots on offer while at Metro, so i picked up Hot Spot, Rook and Streetwise. Tons of Blades so i skipped that for now (since its a repaint of Alpha Bravo anyway) but no First Aid.. :p

Fall of Cybertron - Bruticus

Damn Hasbro, you cheaped out on the most awesome combiner from FoC, luckily you redeemed yourself with the Combiner Wars range (mostly), and there was a 3P out there that fixed most of the slack! The original FoC Bruticus was mostly.... Underwhelming. Look at it!

What's up with the proportions man? They cheaped out on the torso by making it the same size as the limbs.... No way that was going to be proportional! Thankfully Master Blaze Creations came up with a kit to form a decent looking Bruticus!

It looks soooo much better, granted a lot of it is "parts-former", the end product still looks darned sweet!

About the same size as supes too, nice!

Star Wars BANDAI AT-AT

Looks like Bandai will be releasing an AT-AT! Now where are the other vehicles in the line? (B and A-wing plssss.)

LILY Drone Camera

Pretty interesting concept! Kinda reminds me a bit of the April fool joke where they have a drone that can follow you around and carry your spares while you are out biking... or issit real? Anyway, if it works as advertised, then cool.. otherwise no fun throwing it off the bridge.. and having it not respond! :p Hehe.

Check it out here!

LEGO Ferris Wheel

This is pretty darn awesome! The Fairground Mixer was released last year but the response was lukewarm at best, since it was a standalone set mostly unless you had the Grand Carousel. Now that the Ferris Wheel is here, the mixer is sure to go up in popularity as they make quite a nice mix.

The wheel can be motorised, but i think what it needs most is lights? Price is at USD199.. kinda steep yeah but generally LEGO stuff just keeps going up in price.... :(

JEM and the HOLOGRAMS

Ooookkkkk... how is this even related to JEM? Can be any generic teen movie.. what an insult to the series! :(

First Gokin Krang

Wow, came across this as i was browsing for TF's! Guess cos it has 'gokin' in it hurhur. Anyway, quite a pleasant surprise that this was released! Looks much better than what was previously released. The torso lights up too! :) It scales quite nicely with the action figures out there too.

Hot Toys Sandtrooper

Looks like the Sandtrooper PO is out! I can already see the next release.... Sandtrooper with white pauldron haha! :p

Good Smile Co. TMNT!

Wow, very stylised versions of the 4 pizza eaters! Umm.. kinda creepy, but they've got the look right i guess, my terrapins also have that wrinkled look on their skin! :D

Arcadia 1/60 Macross Zero VF-0A

Cool this, but not cool price! At 34,000 yen, it's quite a punch to the wallet ouch! It's of course a newer release compared to the original.. but still.... :p I may skip this for the VF-0S.

Revoltech x Star Wars - X-wing

Interesting this! Looks like Kaiyodo will be releasing the X-wing for their Revoltech line. I wonder how the quality will be though, as Revoltech stuff always turns 'sticky' cos of the rubbery material they use. There'll be a BTTF DeLorean too apparently. :)

Still, i wonder what the ultimate X-wing will be? There are a lot of great kits out there, but no one has made a nice swooshable one? I guess the closest would be the Electronic one that Hasbro released? It'd be nice to have one in 1/72 or 1/48 in die-cast with good paint apps and details. :p

Combiner Wars!

Spotted this at Isetan, kinda surprised they brought this in since not common at others dept stores yet.

TF Poster!

Picked this poster up a while ago at the birdshop, pretty interesting i thought so i thought why not? It covers most of the G1 characters up to G2.

Toys after we kick the bucket.

Interesting article, of course, it not only applies to Transformers, but anything we collect in general. I think as time goes on i'll drop a lot of things i used to collect and focus.. but in general, i'll give my toys to my kids haha, and like some people in the article, the kids can do what they want with them hehe...

Bandai "Moving" X-wing!

Hot damn, box was bigger than expected, thought it was some other order i had haha! All i need now is to find the time to do this, i hope they'll make the other 'wings with leds too!

The molding and lines are sharp, as to be expected from a Bandai kit :)

X-Wing Collectors CD-ROM (1994)

So GOG announced a coupla days back, that those who had purchased the X-wing series from them could also get the 1994 edition from them for free. Gawd, their system doesn't update your library of games automatically, so you'd have to manually refresh it to see the game... i guess their system is still a bit behind Steam in that aspect.

Anyways, the 1994 edition uses SLIGHTLY better graphics (not like the 1998 edition of course), however, the most important thing about the 1994 edition is that it still uses the iMuse system for dynamic music, which in my opinion makes ALL the difference in how the game feels! I still get the shivers when the music builds up and the imperial team comes on when a couple of Star Destroyers arrive in the area... Ooooo...

One MAJOR improvement that can be done is to download a virtual MIDI controller, then downloading some soundfonts. Once you set the music to General MIDI in the options, the game takes on a new level of awesomeness.. it's never sounded better.

Well, till they day Disney decides to release a next-gen X-wing, guess i'll have to keep playing a 20 year old game haha! :p

Happy May the 4th!

Happy Star Wars Day! May the 4th be with you! :p
