Last Toy for the year!

This just came in today, my last toy for 2014! One of my resolutions for 2015 is to cut down on the toys i buy... I'll try my best to stick to that! ;p

And the countdown begins...

There's a little over 2 hours before we bid adieu to 2014.... How was it for me? I think, i'd say it was challenging at best! I took a leap of faith and left my last job without looking for a new one cos i felt i wasn't ready to start again. And of course, there were other things to numerous to mention that tested me to no ends, yet still i prevail. :)

I hope 2015 will be better for everyone, and that the world will be a better, calmer place. God knows everyone needs a break. :)

Wow, and the eve of the new year! Good riddance 2014, not a very good year at all. Let's all pray for a fresh beginning for 2015! Huat Ah! :)

Hot Toys Darth Vader

Hmm, Sideshow just released a Darth Vader figure not too long ago, and i thought that one was designed in part by HT? Pretty interesting, i wonder how this version varies if at all? :p

Hot Toys Iron Man Mk 17 - Heartbreaker

Admittedly, it's been a while since i've bought any IM figures; mainly cos they've all been looking the same, and the price has been spiralling upwards for each release!

However i picked up two recently, cos one thing was the price was good on these two, and the look for these two are unique enough to warrant a purchase.

So i've opened up the Heartbreaker first, awesome finish and build quality, and most importantly, the batteries are not installed in the figure by default!

HB looks bulky and less streamlined than the other armors, guess thats what makes it look unique. It's a 'artillery level suit' whatever that means, but looking up on the webs says that the HB has a larger arc reactor, and has a larger coolant system to compensate.

Old Iron Man

I was supposed to do this for a bit already; remove the batteries from my first HT Iron Man figure! Problem was, i put it in storage, and it wasn't until recently i went down to the store to dig through my junk, and came across this! :p

So i brought it back... And procastinated until today that is haha! Man, the plastic cover is all yellowed already. And HT surrrre has come a long way in the quality and finish of their figures! Some parts have become pinkish and with the very first IM figure, the finish looked kinda rubberish which a lot of people complained about.

Well, got down to removing the figure... And whew, wasn't as horrible as i thought it'd be! I expected the battery to have eaten through the plastic but amazingly no such thing happened. This was with the plastic tab removed.

The batteries in the arm fared a bit better, the tabs were still there, but the batteries only just started to show signs of leaking, so had to dump those too!

Thankfully, HT seperates the batteries nowdays from the figure.... BUT they are still there in the box! Wonder if i should get rid of them totally. :p

Rainy holidays!

Man, been raining almost non-stop for a few days now! So sian haha! At least it didn't pour at csc like last week!

Well, It's the 4th day of X'mas! So much to do, so little time, sad :( but here's a pic of a movie that'll probably be awesome to see! ;)

What? X'mas is over already? Booooo.... At least there's boxing day! Anyway, opened most presents today instead haha! Hope all out there had a great holiday! Too bad it was raining the whole day today thozz :(

Opened the last component for Superion... Well, not really the actual part meant for him, but Hasbro decided to release it this way... Oh well!

PPicked this up at my last visit to the birdshop! 2nd of the 5 3P dinobots from Fansproject! Nice styling but the transformation is a tad fiddly tho, still, pretty impressive for a 3P toy :)

3 days to X'mas!

It's Monday again! But... doesn't feel too bad haha, basically there's no one in office, so it's kinda peaceful... man, can't imagine when work starts anew in the new year!

So, it's only 3 days to X'mas! Man, time flies.... flurry of things to do still gosh! :p Stress haha! :D

I'm Wow, i guess it'll be as big as the hulk figure? Looks super chunky though, prob same price as the igor armor..... Or more!

8 days to X'mas!

Man, this week seemed to fly by somehow? It's midweek already amazingly! And the eve is only a week away.... scary... :p Well, the weather's not getting any cooler really compared to other years, or maybe that "fresh breeze" feel is not here yet. Pretty quiet getting to work though, guess a lot of people are on leave!

Transformers Combiner Wars

Oh man, saw these the other day and couldn't resist! These are soooo much better than the movie crap, and also appeal to my sense of nostalgia for the old figures! I remember buying the arialbots in carded packs at toysrus at marine parade... Ah good times!

I think TF is back to form in a way if they keep this up ;) Oh, awesome artwork on the cards too!

Couple of changes to the Aerialbot team though, now there's a helicopter call Alpha Bravo that replaces the Harrier jump jet Slingshot, and fireflight is now called firefly.

Oh, powerglide is not part of the team, but changes into a weapon that the combined form can use. :)

DX Chogokin Konig Monster

Bandai's reissuing the Konig Monster, difference being a slightly darker color and markings on the nosecone? Still, it's cool how they took an originally non-transformable gun platform, and gave it another 2 forms! :p

I like how they marked out the different nosecone art! ;) Top most is from the TV series, the middle is from the first movie, and the 3rd is from the final movie.

Hot Toys Iron Man Mk XLIII

So HT again has given us a peek at what Tony Stark's armor in the upcoming Avengers 2 movie will be like.... and it looks like all the other armors previously haha! Tony must be stuck in a design rut haha! Well, at least the Hulk Buster armor will be interesting when it gets released... that would be ginormous! :p

HT Boba Fett Update

So the rumors were true! Fett's gonna be a 1/4 scale figure.... gotta admit it looks good though! I wonder if there's a sound chip or something to replicate his scream when he fell off the skiff! :p

Only 12 days more! Brought the kiddies to town today, man, i remember why i avoid town on weekends unless absolutely necessary! I guess everyone's in the festive mood though! :p

MP-21 Bumblebee!

Finally picked up this guy from the usual place! He's kinda small ( in scale with the other Masterpieces) but the fit and finish are excellent! :)

The exo-suit looks to have Spike's son Daniel rather than spike though!

Haha brings back memories of school! Our principal used to drive a pink VW! Earned him the nickname 'Pink Panther' cos he was so skinny too. :) Unfortunately his VW was always the target of pranksters!

Happy 21st Doom!

Ah, was it 21 years ago? Wow, i remember playing Doom on my 486-SX25... with 4MB of RAM and an 8MB HDD.... unbelievable! Still, the experience then probably rivals that of most new games released nowadays haha!

Well, there's going to be a Doom 4, so let's hope that lives up to the series's pedigree! :)

Hot Toys Boba Fett?

Hmmm... other than their announcements on the Vader and Kenobi figures, looks like HT is about to release a Fett figure? Rumors are that it may be 1/4 scale, but i dunno, it'd be out of line with their other 1/6t figures? The only other 1/4 figure i remember them producing was Batman i think? :p

Battlefield 4 : Final Stand

Soooo... i haven't even gotten around to installing the last expansion pack when they're now saying that Final stand won't be the "Last" expansion pack? Ummmm.. anyone still playing BF4? I'm actually still on D3:RoS even though that game is much older.

Looks like Sideshow is releasing another Indiana Jones figure! This time from the Temple of Dooooommmm.....  with authentic blood and battle scars! All it needs is some sweat on that shirt haha.

16 days to X'mas!

Only 16 days! But man, it'll be here soon. :) Been a busy weekend! Seems December is a good month to get married! Was at a colleague's wedding on Saturday (thank goodness it was a lunch), then my cousin got married on Sunday at Alkaff Mansion, which was a pretty nice venue, quaint and rustic. Plus it was a rather informal affair too, not some sit down Chinese Wedding (yawn). ;p

So, there's a new Terminator movie coming soon? Terminator : Genisys. Aside from the corny name, our dear old T-800 is coming back, the Guvnor himself! Well, the trailer for the movie was just released.... it's different? I guess with this time travel schtick they can just ret-con everything that happened previously. Gawd i hate shows with a time travel plot device!

Well, remains to be seen how the movie will pan out... still, crossing my fingers!

20th Anniversary of the Playstation!

It's been 20 years already? Yeah, that's a lifetime ago! So the PS turned 20 on the 3rd of December, i still remember the original PS... good times. Come to think of it, i've gone through PS1-4... ah you've been there as i was growing up *sniff*.

Coolest is they're releasing a limited ed PS4 in the original grey color! Man, if i didn't have a PS4 already i'd probably get this.

3 weeks to Christmas!

Oh man, it's just another 21 days to X'mas, then another week to the end of 2014 woo! :) Ah, looking forward to the break hehe.

Hehe, Hot Toys is releasing the John Matrix (awesome name!) figure from the movie COMMANDO... which i gotta admit, is like a guilty pleasure to watch hehe. Good ol' 80's movie... and Alyssa Milano was just a kid then! :)

Also, the quad rocker launcher is awesome too. ;)

Welcome to December!

Soooooo... it's the first day of the last month for 2014! Oh man, and a wet Monday it was too! Darnnit. Luckily the roads aren't too packed due to the school holidays!

Was playing a bit of D3 again on the PS4... didn't realise that they went ahead and patched it to have the 2. something patches like the PC version ( those greater rifts and all ). Apparently they're not going to support it on the PS3 anymore? So no choice but to migrate my characters over... luckily they had that feature although it's a one way thing.

Man, also on GTA V.. the detail in the game is crazy. I was driving and bumped into another car, that driver like, GLARED at me and gave me the middle finger... and his head followed my car as i drove off, wow.

Whoa so soon after the new EP 7 trailer was revealed, Hot Toys strikes with an announcement for 2 new figures.. i wonder what's the difference between HT and Sideshows version?

Woot! The trailer for the Force Awakens is out! Awesome how the few scenes they released whets my appetite for more.... And.. X-wing! :D

GTA V (again) on PS4

So i'm playing GTA V again on the PS4, it's basically the same game with upgraded graphics (which really do look good) and some added functionality specific for the PS4 (the controller is basically the cell phone when it rings, which is pretty cool, and the light for the controller indicates the health status). The draw distance is improved, but the framerate is locked at 30fps... i wonder why they locked it out like that... so as not to make the XB1 look bad?

I think it's time most developers moved on to the next-gen of consoles already; doesn't really make sense anymore to be limited by the restrictions of the previous hardware. Plus prices now are pretty stable too.

Now, just waiting for Just Cause 3 hehe....

Jurassic World

Well this was... unexpected? But when will they ever learn? You can't put dinos and humans together... something's BOUND to go wrong! :p

LEGO Helicarrier?

Rumored next up in the UCS line is the Helicarrier from The Avengers! It's possible that it may be released, but then again, always with a pinch of salt with these rumors! :)

Mondayyyy!

So we're into the last stretch of November! Oh man, that was fast, so it's 5 weeks to X'mas? Hehe.

Been playing a bit of COD:Advanced Warfare, gotta say, the graphics are awesome, and the futuristic setting doesn't take away from the gameplay itself unlike lessayyy... BLOPS2? I think the military technology used in the game is a pretty good expectation of where current technology will be in maybe 20-30 years?

Plot wise i think it's easily figured out how things will go within the first few missions.... i think i'm midway through the game... but enjoying it so far!

In other news! I think BF4 final stand is out! Haven't touched that in ages though, not sure how long the last expansion will take to install. :p

Oh man, 2015 looks like it's gonna be another expensive year! Lessee... There's going to be a new line of macross figures under the "Hi-Metal R" line ( i do love how they name these :p), there's a new VF-19 coming out, and FOUR more bots under their existing DX line!

Looks like 3A is coming out with Master Chief himself this time; i think it's previously been the other spartans from Halo : Reach or something? He's looking kinda bulky though! And the articulation seems a bit off/stiff :p
