Yo...Joe?

Kinda sweet, it's a Joe Skystriker in the colors of the Transformers Autobot Skyfire! Not the first time for a crossover like this, I think last years SDCC special was Shockwave as a HISS tank?

Hot Toys - Snake Eyes!

Now, THIS is much better! Only the beginning of 2013 and they unleash another license on us? At least we won't have to worry much about the HS! :)

I think it's a great improvement over the sideshow version that's yet to be released, would go nice beside my Viper and siegie!

GI JOE - Crimson Guard

Got my mitts on Sideshow's Crimson Guard 12" Fig, this version came with a headsculpt of an unmasked "Siegie", but i'm interested in the bad guys more BECAUSE of the masks they wear!

This was one of my favorite figures (along with the Viper and B.A.T) for the 80's 3 inch plus tall figures. The 12" version comes with what looks like a FN FAL, VECTOR SMG w/silencer as a secondary and a Desert Eagle as a sidearm. The backpack opens to fit in 2 mags for the pistol and SMG, plus 2 flashbangs and a mine. Overall there wasn't so much buckles and other items to connect up, so definately less frustrating than the Viper figure!

Hehe, please ignore the clutter in the background! Sweet figure, though i think if it had one of Hot Toys advanced bodies, the poseability would be even better. :)

Cobra Viper

Picked up a Cobra Viper 12" Fig from Sideshow; i remember it being one of my favorite figs back in the 80's, although this is the 'big boy' version. Pretty darn cool how it's been given a modern look. (Although i do not recommend wearing frags near your chest!)

Hats off to those who do 1/6 figs full time, they have the patience of saints. I almost died trying to string all the gear together for this fellow

There are two Assault rifles supplied; the Magpul Masada ( or Bushmaster ACR as it's now known) and the Viper assault rifle... which is the larger version of the rifle that came with the original 3 1/4" fig! Strangely no sidearm, have to go source for that.

Yo Joe!

Finally a GI JOE movie that doesn't look half bad, the first one was... entertaining for sure! But certain characterizations were way off, and the 'cheese' factor was definately there!

Ok, the ROCK is in this movie, but still, here's hoping he doesn't suddenly pull off a PEOPLE'S ELBOW on some poor unsuspecting Cobra Trooper! :p

Catch the trailer here.

Back to the old Room! - Part 1

Spent this Sunday back at my old place packing up the last of my stuff ( I really have too much old stuff), but seeing some of these toys again, i actually forgot i had them in the first place!

Found my MASK raven again, still looks pretty good, and the driver (Calhoun Burns) is still inside!

Also found another bunch of G1 transformers that entertained me in the 80's and early 90's.... ahh, these toys show signs of being well played with!

Also got my Micro Machines collection largely intact; the playsets and all are still there, maybe a bit fiddly but working. :) My favorite was this tool box that opened up into a city, complete with bridge, airport and marina! :D

Gawd, i thought i threw these away; the tech specs and instruction manuals for my G1 TF's and GI Joes. Most of my viper figs are wonky now, the rubber band midsection deteriorated on most of the figs.

One of my favorite figs, the COBRA B.A.T (Battle Android Trooper), it had interchangeable hands PLUS a cool hologram sticker in his chest! :D

Yo..... Joe?

Caught the GI JOE : Rise of Cobra live action movie today with my wifey, cinema was basically empty save a few couples here and there, i won't go into the habits of moviegoers ( fer cryin' out loud, i don't appreciate people kicking the back of my seat! ), that's for another time....

Overall, not too bad a movie, again, nothing great either. It pays homage to the comics with references here and there (yes, i know breaker likes to chew gum). The downer was the inclusion of Marlon Wayans for comic relief, thankfully he wasn't too off the top, but he still seems too out of place, PLUS what the F were the writers thinking? Ripcord (whom Wayans plays) as a love interest for Scarlett? Hello? Ripcord wasn't even a black man in the first place.

Did i mention Duke was boring? They could probably take all his scenes out and it wouldn't have made a difference. Still some saving points here and there, Snake Eyes was cool, but woefully underused, and of course, we're watching the movie for the Baroness (drool) who was so gosh darn cool for 2/3's of the show... till she started spazzing and all...

Oh, Scarlett is super hot, but after lip locking with Ripcord, i don't think i'll even d/l this movie. Entertaining movie for which there'll sure to be a sequel. Do something about ripcord, and i'll consider getting the bluray for part 2. I give this a 6.5/10.
