Cowboys & Aliens 1/6

Wahahaha, this is supposed to look like Harrison Ford? Last i remember sculpts like this, it was 1995! :P

Seriously. And this is a Medicom product, darn the japs are getting beaten at their own game!

They should take a leaf from Hot Toys. Stuff like this being sold at a premium is unacceptable.

Wahahaha! (couldn't resist).

Hot Toys - Hall of Armor

Hot Darn! Hot Toys will be releasing the official 'docking stands' for the Iron Man figs! (As seen in Iron Man 2), i bet quite a few people will be buying MORE than 1 set!

I think a sweet price point will no more than 150 bucks... But i feel bad for the Orbi made one, as the detail isn't that great... but is still unique in it's own way i guess!

Sandtrooper - More Pics

Coupla more pics taken in the lightbox...

Wonder if i can substitute the bosy with the HT True Type ones? The one they give is notoriously flimsy!

Well, here's hoping after the Luke Bespin fig, they release a plain Stormtrooper! :P

FOR THE EMPEROR!

Recieved my Space Marine collectors edition today, it was WAY heavier than i thought it'd be, plus pretty big! Comes in a nice slipcase jacket too. :)

You pull out a "book" which opens out to reveal the artbook, which contains the goodies; the set includes the game, an artbook, soundtrack, cards and a purity Seal... with which i can use to obtain all virgins in the Imperium! Mwuahahaha! :p

The artbook contains concept art and renderings of the heroes, villians and environs in the game, the soundtrack should be good. :)

Don't really know what the cards are for though! :p Time to purge the Xenos!

Sideshow/Hot Toys 1/6 Sandtrooper Sergeant

Sideshow has this cool 1/6 Sandtrooper (ANH) figure released in abouts 2009. Guess i'm not used to 1/6 figs, the straps and all are a PAIN to fit in! :p

One last image before i call it a night... too sleepy now to post! :p

Master Replicas - Boba Fett Part 2

Coupla different views of the helmet; the viewfinder can be raised and lowered, and there are a few red LED's that will light up when it's lower, took out the batteries though!

Interior is padded like the Stormtrooper helmet! Here's a mugshot of me... couldn't resist!

Lunch!

Malay rice for this rainy Tuesday!

Master Replicas - Boba Fett - Pt 1

Got this shipped in OMG shipping cost sux! :p And HAHA to writing Bobby Fett on the box! Who's that anyway, his american cousin? This is the 1:1 scale Boba Fett helmet from Master Replicas; regular edition, think it's 1,500 produced worldwide?

Pretty standard packing box, comes in two styrofoam halves and is padded... helmet is pretty hefty too! Too sleepy now to comment much so just one more pic. Update later in the day!

Room Cleanup! Part Tres.

Clearing out the storeroom today, pleasant surprise to see these old toys again, even though they were stored in boxes, most came out prrreeetty ok. :p Some of the rubber tires had the 'rot' though, that's to be expected in our climate!

Found some toys that have not been seen in a while! This is the F4 from the X-Panders toy range by galoob. (Yes, it sounds like suspenders, a most unfortunate similarity!). The "Power Deploy" feature for this still works and most parts are intact. The Apache is also there, missing one or two acessories. Also found some sky commanders stuff mostly intact, so that's cool.

Also found my Classic Star Wars figs on top of my cupboard in a box... :P i should keep them better!

Map Room - City of Tanis

Ok, this cool or what? There's going to be a 1/6 Map Room of the City of Tanis, like in the movie Raiders of the lost Ark; compare the diorama above to the actual movie scene below... not too bad! :) But it's gonna set one back a whoppin US$199!!! If Sideshow and Hot Toys are gonna keep making environs for the figures, there'll be no more space in people's houses for toys anymore!

Laser light effect not included! :p

Game on!

Finally got down to firing up my PS3 to play some games! Good to know it's still working. :p Loaded SW : Force unleashed II... and i kinda completed it already! Man, it's a SHORT game, but not as punishing i feel as the first one... it has a kinda DLC feel to it, but still i kind of enjoy it, and am playing through a 2nd time for the upgrades and costumes! :p

Also downloaded a few demos from the PSN, one was Space Marine, which has gorgeous graphics (ok it's just good), but most impressive is the FEEL of the game, the marines have this heft to them, and the bolters have a most impressive sound and explosive effect! This ain't Gears of War, cos there's no cover system, and no med packs.... so takes while getting used to the fact that you have to KILL to HEAL. :P

Another game demo was for WH40K : Kill Team, this is kinda fun, cos you can tag up with another player locally or online for some Xenos killin' action! It plays more arcadey compared to Space Marine, but it's more of an arcade shooter in that sense, so the power ups and such lead to a more fast paced game.

D/L'ed a few videos, one of which was for a DR2 sidestory, DR2 : Off the Record. This stars our favorite zombie slaying reporter, Frank West.... and he's back with all the wierdness! Seriously, the trailer had me laughing out loud at one point. :p

The new Ace Combat looks great, although i wonder how the change to a more arcade playing experience will shape this game. Also, saw the trailer for Uncharted 3 in 3D... not too shabby! :D

Test post from mobile Blogger!

Ok, so now there's an app on the iphone for blogger! Hope the layout is not as krap as the web version! :p

Heading back now to celebrate the mid-autumn festival aka mooncake festival! It's that time of year when one gorges on mooncake and sips tea while pondering the secrets of the moon....

.. Speaking of which, i hope the haze doesn't block the view!

Smoggy Sunday - Iron Man again!

Those durn indo's are burning their forests again! WTF is up with them man? Well, another slow sunday, got up late, :p So not much done. Packed up my room a bit ( just stuffed things into what ever corner i can ), decided to finally remove the batts from my Iron Man figs; i know what it's like NOT to ( gunky brown liquid mess + the acid will eat away the contacts and plastic eventually ) remove them, so decided to test it out before doing so.

So i manhandled both the MK VI and WMachine, man, the details on these things are amazing... so much better than the first MK III released, guess they learnt after all the complaints! :p Compared to the MK VI, War Machine is so much bulkier, but the small bits of details here and there make it a work of art. Luckily i decided to do so too, found that the batts for the head are dead, so i yanked them out and used those from the MK VI and wahlah! They work thankfully.

Maybe this is part of Hot Toys way of evening out the field for collectors and hoarders.... if they don't sell the toy or keep it too long, the batts will eventually thrash the toy.... so no more such thing as MISB or NIB anymore? :p

9/11

It was 10 years ago today, that a few men decided to fly a few Jetliners into the WTC and Pentagon; whether or not this was 'allowed' to happen, we'll never know. But the fact is that it has changed the face of politics and war.

I clearly remember the event, i was still staying at AMK back then, just started working too. I was in my room when my sis told me ".. there was an explosion at the WTC in the US!", by the time i stepped out of my room to take a look, i caught the plane smashing into the tower live on the news....

It took a while to sink in, i mean, this only happens in the movies right? I mean, who'd be brazen enough to attack the US of A? Regardless, after the images unfolded on the screen, and the horror of the two towers collapsing, reality hit; nothing's gonna be the same again. All of us in the living room were kinda worried then of course, was even thinking if i should go to work ( i was working in UOB Plaza back then! ) :P

Well, US started a crusade in Afghanistan, then Iraq, all because of GW Bush of course. 10 years on, they've got the 'mastermind' behind it all, Osama Bin Laden... 10 years, was it worth it or justified for the soldiers who were just following orders?

I'd hammer that...

... me too! No wonder Thor and Loki look so... interested. :p Gotta say, Black Widow is looking hawwwttt.... can't wait to see what her 1/6 counterpart looks like :D

Back to the old room! - Part 2

Found this old gundam model kit i had, price tag was still there! Was from the old oriental emporium, probably bought it from Hougang as i frequented there quite often when i was young. :p Most shocking thing? The Friggin price, even without the offer it was like, 6 bucks plus. Now i don't think it's possible to get that type of pricing!

Found the Starwars Monopoly Set that En Lai and my sis bought for me, it's pretty cool, and was released around the time of the Star Wars Special Edition re-releases.

There were diecast player pieces
which were cool, and the "Hotels"
were the Mill. Falcon! :p

Last up, i found a coupla old games, TIE fighter, C&C Renegade, MGS for the PC.... ahhh good times! :D

Happy Birthday Freddie. ;)

Today's the birthday of Legendary singer/songwriter Freddie Mercury, he with the amazing vocal range and chest hair! :p

Many songs written by him have become Anthems on their on rights; i think most of his songs are instantly recognizable to anyone.

Freddie would have been a grand 65 today if he was alive; and i believe he's still be rocking out if he was still around.

Go Freddie! :D

Back to the old Room! - Part 1

Spent this Sunday back at my old place packing up the last of my stuff ( I really have too much old stuff), but seeing some of these toys again, i actually forgot i had them in the first place!

Found my MASK raven again, still looks pretty good, and the driver (Calhoun Burns) is still inside!

Also found another bunch of G1 transformers that entertained me in the 80's and early 90's.... ahh, these toys show signs of being well played with!

Also got my Micro Machines collection largely intact; the playsets and all are still there, maybe a bit fiddly but working. :) My favorite was this tool box that opened up into a city, complete with bridge, airport and marina! :D

Gawd, i thought i threw these away; the tech specs and instruction manuals for my G1 TF's and GI Joes. Most of my viper figs are wonky now, the rubber band midsection deteriorated on most of the figs.

One of my favorite figs, the COBRA B.A.T (Battle Android Trooper), it had interchangeable hands PLUS a cool hologram sticker in his chest! :D
