Monday! ThreeZero Titanfall

Wow, goshdarnnit it's monday already? Time flies seeing how i was on leave on Friday too! Boooo...

Anyway, looks like ThreeZero is coming out with a Titanfall figure, first one will be a 20" figure with a pilot... i guess it's a match made in heaven as the aesthetics for the Titans are right up ThreeZero's alley. :p

BF4 Naval Strike Delayed & other things...

Wasn't unexpected, seeing their crappy track record of atrocious/non-existant QA testing. WTF really, announcing this just before the game is coming out? Man, all the gold packs they give won't win back the trust of the players. So fail.

In other news, i totally lost interest in the Occulus Rift, seeing how Facebook is going to buy them. It's like... it's tainted by an evil touch. Sad. Well, at least there's the PS4 headset to look forward to!

HGUC 1/144 Neo Zeong

Well, this certainly ranks up there with the HGUC Dendrobium Stamen! Once in a blue moon, Bandai will make kits of these giant Mobile Armors. The Neo Zeong will appear in episode 7 of Gundam Unicorn, and even at 1/144 scale... it's gonna be one bigggg mutha!

The prototype was unveiled at the recent Anime Japan Expo 2014, the kit will stand at 86cm tall, and will cost 27000 yen! Most importantly, how's one to display it haha! Maybe can hang from the ceiling....

Monday Begins!

Wow, this is gonna be an interesting week; Naval Strike's gonna be released on the 25th over in the US of A, prob give it a quick spin seeing how i'm rapidly losing interest in the game. The Diablo expansion Reaper of Souls is out too.... so that doesn't bode well for BF4 haha.

Gundam 35th Anniversary Live Webcast

Watching this now, interesting! They are planning a REAL Gundam by the 40th Anniversary of the series... that's 5 years from now... who knows if the world is still around by then? :p The MC is kinda hot too. ;)

MP Wheeljack & Ultra Magnus Update

Schweeeeet.... updated color pics of Wheeljack from this month's Hobby mags! I love the classic look of the Lancia. :) There's also an updated silhouette of Ultra Magnus, but that could be a line drawing. The upcoming MP Starsaber also has the vehicle mode line drawings... awesome. So many toys. So little space.

Noodle Story

Mmmm, good stuff from Amoy! SG style ramen!

Pretty awesome local cooked food! They use wanton noodles with lots of garnishing, one Japanese Rutan, Cha-su, wanton and a fried shrimp wrapped in potato... Mmmmm.... :g The quantity of the items vary as they have 3 sizes, costs ranging from 5.50 to 7.50. Oh there's a bowl of soup which is real nice too. 

I like how every item tastes unique here, and how well it all comes together. Man, if i had the recipe or skills to make this i'd quit my job in a jiffy! Definitely want to try this again! :g

Maketoys Utopia NOT-Metroplex

Pretty interesting, to release a Metroplex after the Generations version. This one seems pretty small however? The detail is good though, and the alt modes are closer in a way to the original Metroplex.

 

PS4 VR Headset

Morpheus? Interesting name for a headset. God of dreams or black dude from Matrix? Hehe. It'd be interesting to see how this goes, Sony has the hardware expertise, but Occulus Rift has the software behind their own VR set, and it's been more thoroughly tested by devs.

Neca ED-209

Got this from falc's a couple of weeks back. Been wanting to open it, but you know, lack of time/kids etc haha.

Anyway this is about 10 inches, with basic articulation, but more than enough for ed's signature pose/s. Cool thing is that it has sound too, most of the key phrases and sounds from the movie are included. Paint app is the usual neca quality... Rough at best with a few stray spots, but decent enough. It ain't hot toys, but it doesn't cost the same price too haha.

MGS V : Ground Zeroes

It's the 'Big' day! MGSV:GZ is supposed to be out today; saw on the forums in SG that some people have already completed it ummm.. well, it's like, a 2 hour game if you play straight through it yeah. Some people are saying Kojima's copping out by releasing this as a retail product.... well hey, people still bought Gran Turismo Prologue too right? And the PS3 version comes with Peace Walker HD too for a limited time.

Well, let's see if i can find it at a gameshop near my place later. :)

Disney's Frozen

Had a chance to catch Frozen over the weekend... man, this movie really went under the radar huh? Sad as it's a really good animated movie, and Disney really under-promoted it compared to other kiddies movies out there like CARS/PLANES or whatever soulless crap Disney is churning out these days to sell toys to kids.

This is a beautiful movie with soul, reminds me a lot of classics like Aladdin or The Little Mermaid which had catchy tunes and memorable scenes. The pacing of the movie is good and the characters are mostly likeable. The animation is top notch too, with little nuances in the characters movements and expressions that make them all very lifelike.

The story is based VERY loosely off the Snow Queen by Hans Christian Anderson, heck, in fact it's just nods towards the characters from the original (if at all). Still, the movie clips by pretty fast, even the kiddies seem to like it.

Another important thing is the songs are lovely, i think by now everyone's heard 'Let It Go'. Awesome stuff.

So, the exclusive is the 'battle mask' for the bee? This is to match the G1 toy illustration i guess! Still, cool. :)

Rain rain...

It's been mostly dry since jan, but miracle of miracles, it rained for a whole minute in the afternoon! Only served to make the air more humid.

There was a rooftop event at myVillage earlier in the evening, they were showing Frozen using a portable HD projector, it's a professional one with a pretty good sound system so the effect was good.

Din stay long tho cos it was crowded as heck, Rooftop's too small, but the effort was appreciated!

DK Star Wars LEGO Visual Dictionary

Well, this is what poisoned me into Star Wars LEGO in the first place. I think it was the Home-1 Hanger that i bought first? It just grew from there. Oh man, and now they're releasing an updated version! :p

There's also a retro luke minifig with this... coolz. :)

Gundam - Zeon MS production

I kinda like the parallels the original Gundam drew between itself and the conflict during WWII; Zeon was basically the Nazi party and the Federation were the allied forces.... even the stylings of the bad guys are very similar. Another cool thing, is like how the Nazi's were developing so many new weapons, but spread themselves way too thin, and also too little too late for some of their new hardware.

BF4 Today

Soooooo... played me some Battlefield 4 yesterday Arrrrr, after stopping for quite a bit. How's the game after the most recent patch? Well, the framerate seems to have improved for one, there seems to be lesser unwarranted kills, although that really depends on the server you're playing on. Spawn kills still happen, sound bug still there on certain custom servers. The AA is still awesome.

 

Also, there was a battlelog plugin yesterday to reflect the upcoming Naval Strike expansion. So the assignments are now visible. Heck, you can start on the NStrike assignments in fact.

 

One thing that really sucks now is the restrictions set by the server admins; kick cos ping too high (>100), kick cos "please find your own country server", kick cos whatever.. I thought this was a multiplayer game?

 

Anyway, most servers were empty yest for Asia and N. America. Think it's cos of the release of Titanfall.

ThreeZero Robocop - EM-208

Looks like 3-0 is full steam on the robocop products? They don't seem to have the HT quality in their finishes.. maybe that's why their stuff is always weathered? Anyway, the EM-208 is like the cannon fodder of the Robocop 2014 world. Kinda generic looking, but i guess it's meant to be that way! This is 1/6 scale too btw.

So, officially announced! The Designer's video is also out... not too much play value but looks cool still! I do like the return to the Classic Star Wars box design though!

Um, not very necessary i thinks, seeing how the PS3 will see continued usage (outside of japan) for maybe a couple more years?

Still, looks better than that Spiderman script they initially used. Heck, my old fat PS3 still uses that styling!

SOC for kids

Took the kiddies out today to Safra toa payoh's indoor playground... Place is big! And like a mini soc training ground! I think they're secretly training these kids to get used to all the obstacles..... At least it let me realise how unfit i am, mostly out of breath following my boy through all the tunnels and mazes! Still, kina fun. ;)
