Anddd.... and new week begins anew!

I've been conspicuously missing from posting this weekend, because there's not much time between the kiddies and rounds of D3 on the PS3.. (Chionged to Hell Difficulty by the way). The game I feel is much more balanced this time round, the drops are better and the difficulty scales better; if the game gets too in your face, you can always drop the difficulty back to normal. They've introduced the Master I-V difficulties to keep the game interesting/rewarding, seems fair enough especially once your EQP gets better.

 

I GOT to try out GTAV! It's sitting there on my desk... looking sad... crying out for me to release it haha! The videos of it look too awesome, could this be the ultimate Open World game? I remember playing GTA Vice City and listening to the 80's songs on the radio while driving aimlessly around... ahhhh good days.

 

Also finally picked up my STGCC metroplex... fark, the box is ridiculously big! Prob 40% air. :p

Man, has it been a sloowwwww week or what? At least it rained a bit to kill some heat, been pretty warm these few nights!

And in more aircraft related news, the first pilotless F-16 has been tested! I guess they are running out of F-4's? Or it could be a ploy to buy more F-35's "because we blew up all the planes on standby!". Kinda creepy seeing the seat empty like that. What's with all that smoke? Spirit of the AI?

Arcadia VF-1J 30th Anniversary

This came in the post last week, but only managed to open it yesterday! It's the former producer of valks, now called Arcadia's first Macross product! First thing you'll notice is how small the box is now, it also comes in a nice slipcase, and back is the flap panel to allow you to have a look into the windowed box! Hopefully they can carry on this level of quality for the packaging and products. :)

The decals have to applied manually though! Gosh darn! :p

F1 Weekend!

Wow, another F1 again, it's been like, almost 5 years in a row? Seems to be pretty low key this year compared to when it was first introduced. Still, kinda cool that you can hear the cars all the way from Somerset MRT! :p

Finally picked up my GTAV, but have not started on it yet! Hopefully will be able to get some time in to see how good it's supposed to be. :)

Is LEVOLUTION even a word? Haha! Anywayz, the beta is coming out 1st October for BF3 Premium members (which I think most people are now anyway, seeing how much the price has dropped!). I just hope it doesn't become a jet/heli spam fest.... heck they should just remove the tanks, darned useless they are I say!

Diablo 3 Auction Houses to be closed

Whoa, a bit surprising, but not unexpected, since the console version does not have the Auction House, I guess it's to streamline the game on both platforms and STOP THE GREED BEFORE THE GAME IS TRULY KILLED!

Toosday trip!

Of all days I had to go on a business trip, it HAD to be the day that GTA V launches! Arrrghhhhh! Anyway, still have the next few days to pick it up haha! And thankfully the sea was quite calm, so no hurling people all around me! :P

DAMtoys MARSOC Team Leader

Cold and dreary day today! Weather's been like this for the past few days actually! Starting to miss the sun now... :p

Picked up the MARSOC Team Leader by DAMtoys, and the first thing you notice is that the headsculpt is pretty darn awesome, almost HToys like! :)

The gear included is also pretty nice, although it could use some weathering to make it look a bit more worn. Apparently there'll be another marsoc guy out? Way to milk the mold haha!

Man, after seeing this, it brings back memories of BMT... as in our training is NOWHERE as tough as this! And these are like, super fit people. Also amazing is the SGTS can eff the Officers... and they daren't talk back. ;) Hats off to these guys!

Hasegawa 1/72 VF-25 Messiah

Hase's gonna release a 1/72 model kit of the VF-25, and it can be painted in the S or F models. Quality's gonna be better than the Bandai one for sure!

iPhone 5S/5C debut!

Well, not much of a debut actually since so much was leaked/already known about it! Most of the guesses were spot on, like the fingerprint sensor and the new champagne colored one. Tech wise, it's just a enhanced model of the 5, ie. slightly bigger screen, faster processor... but I'm more interested in the battery life, cos I find the iPhone 5 has atrocious battery life... less than half a day and poof! You're at 50%... even my iPhone 4 could last a day or 2 without charging! Plus iOS 7 may make it worse haha.

 

There's also the 5C, which is a budget version of the iPhone 5.. nuff said. Apple better up their game on their next release, because seriously, their line is getting weakkkk, and more and more people ARE going for other phones! Had a friend on facebook who was joking, 5S is for 5S-ame... and the 5C is for.... 5C-heap... :p

 

 

9/11 Anniversary...

Wow, it's been, 12 years it think? About the same time I started working haha! Time sure flies, and that day is still fresh in my memory!

Man, getting too old to study. Spent the past three days at NUS attending a course, darn if it's getting difficult to remember things! At least it's well and over, and I play Diablo 3 tonite Muhahah!

Weather's freaky too, been raining for the past few nights, shiok to sleep, but terrible to get up to go to work! :p

Ace Combat Assault Horizon : SE box

Managed to pick this up on a online jap shop; mostly tough to find anymore! Was  kinda late to this, cos i didn't know they had such an edition!

The bundle comes in a nice box with the ps3 version of ac:ah (no, didn't get this for the game!), the soundtrack and an ace combat artbook, which i think is the gem of this set.

The book covers ac5, ac6 and zero, it has tres cool artwork, sketches and pics of the people, planes and settings of the AC world! Oh, they also give a papercraft Stonghenge to build too haha!

MSGV - Be veryyyy Quiet..

Well, weather's pretty pretty crazy past two days, rains middle of the night to the next morning, quiet shiok actually, dowan to get up to go to work haha! AND it's been causing other 'ponding' issues and slow traffic... man, it took me over an HOUR to get to work on Thursday, something which normally  takes 15 mins! Crazy...

So, Kojima's got another hot babe model to be in his game... I think he really has a fetish for Euro models man. Although this one is kinda hot. :)

Soldierstory 75th Ranger Regiment in Afghanistan

Picked up this guy from the convention, prob cheap cos the box was not minty fresh! But the figure and accessories were fine, so why not? The rabbit tool is die-cast, so that's cool. And HS is of Edward Norton i think? :)

 

 

Happy 15th Birthday MGS!

Well well, it's been 15 years? OMG, I was a young lad back then in them good ol days when things were simpler! Yeah, the first time I saw MGS on those "OEM" disks, I was totally blown away, the production values then for a PS Game were totally amazing (although the graphics are antique by today's standard's, but it's not always about the graphics eh?)

 

So happy birthday Snake! Although you'll not be voiced by David Hayter, you'll always remain the epitome of the Silent stealth action hero with the super gruff voice! ;)

How i wish it was the OTHER Valkyrie! But you can't win em' all, at least they still make space sims! The other being Star Citizen methinks! Gameplay looks a bit like Privateer? It supposedly supports the Occulus Rift too.

Now this is pretty cool! Not very big, but then again, the 1/100 scale version of this is gigantic as it is! This is just nice for display, problem is, it's a darned online exclusive!

C3 Hobby Expo - MG Sazabi 2.0

Too many hobby shows recently haha! Well, they've shown the prototype for Sazabi, the details are much better than the first release, but the stance is weird, prob cos the 3D printed prototype can't take the weight haha! Looking forward to the painted final release!

Monday monday! Yawnnzzz...

It's monday again! Think i added too much Jaegermeister in the drink last night, hangover! And man, is the Thai red bull super sweet or what? Anyway, back to work again today. Man, did the weekend go by tooooo fast or what?

 

Well, another year to go before the next STGCC! This year's was better than last in terms of number of vendors, but then again, they could have done the spacing a bittttt better, you know like, rather than jam the popular displays RIGHT AT THE ENTRANCE AND BLOCKING EVERYONE FROM ENTERING. Seriously, whoever planned the layout must have failed in planning or something, because there were BIG gaps in the floorplan, where the less popular shops have less/no traffic. Rant over!

 

This year was IRON MAN YEAR! Can't really blame them cos all these were planned and produced way before IM3 was released, and only now were most of the products ready for display, Hot Toys had IM, Play Imaginative had IM, Action City had IM, Simply Toys had IM.... the list goes on, you can't turn a corner without bumping into ol' Tony Stark man. But gotta admit, i think this year Play Imaginative had an impressive display, all the armors from IM3's house party protocol in 1/12! And they were pretty much well done.

 

One thing i missed was the LEGO display's from the past two years. What gives? And poor 501st was placed near the dark main stage where there was hardly any light, and they were perpetually shrouded in the dark side... bad planning! All the usual suspects from CSC were there.... trying to scalp poor passerbys and FT's into buying old stock. I guess there were some good buys, but nothing really caught my attention this round. Surprisingly the exclusives from HT didn't immediately sell out like in previous years, this of course is not counting in the MIDAS armor, as that didn't appear at the other recent toy show... check out evilbay, it's going for upwards of $800 now, haha. Prob will be people willing to pay for it. But the evil side of me wishes these scalpers get stuck with whatever they've hoarded, and get buried with them muhahahahaa!

 

Still! Looking forward to next year's event, and hoping it's back at Suntec! :)

STGCC Day 2

Whew! Day 2 was thankfully less packed than the first day ( prob becos everyone was lining up for the exclusive stuff ), and there was space to take pics of the stuff i missed out on yesterday.

Still, crowd started coming in after lunchtime, so better skip out before i get crushed! :p
