Ode to Sazabi...

Oh Sazabi, why do you instill such gunpla lust in me? Even though I try so hard to shy away from you? More importantly, why are your arms still so ridiculously longish? :p

TGIF!

And it's only like, 4 more weeks to X'mas? There are still a lot of things to do though! At least the tree is up, although I have not put up most of the decorations..... LEGO stuff not up too! :p Booo...

Back to toy news, the MG Sazabi is looking good... should be out year end?

Latest MG Sazabi Pics

Well, looking better than the 3d printed one, but still, I prefer the stylings of the GMG resin kit compared to this! Guess they'll still have time to do touch up, but anyway it looks much better than the original release!

C3 Hobby Expo - MG Sazabi 2.0

Too many hobby shows recently haha! Well, they've shown the prototype for Sazabi, the details are much better than the first release, but the stance is weird, prob cos the 3D printed prototype can't take the weight haha! Looking forward to the painted final release!

One leg kicking!

Can you imagine how fast time flies? Already Friday, and there goes my 3 days of leave! :p Sucks that it was raining most of the time too.

Well, at least managed to pick up a bit on my model kit; rainy weather is killer on the topcoat.

Nearing to completion of the bot itself! This is taking too long haha! :p

MG Nu Gundam - Legs!

Finishing up one foot most of this afternoon, had previously done the lining and all for the model, just that the weather wasn't so good for topcoating. But today was good and warm, so managed to finish most of it!

Also finished up the leg today, no armor plates on it yet! :(

MG Nu Gundam - Upper Torso

Left arm done! That makes the upper torso complete. :p Darn, a bit on the slow side i am!

MG Nu Gundam - Update

LED units for the Nu Gundam came in, so decided to connect it up to see how it goes! Looks good, but too much of a hassle to remove the head unit to turn on/off the batteries.. think i'll leave it out!

Now working on the legs! Starting with the feet first, well, at least one foot first... just... too.... many... parts!

MG Nu Gundam - Progress update

Darn, been slower than normal fixing up the kit, but then again, don't want to rush things! Coming along nicely though. :) Only completed one part of the shoulder armor, to think this consisted of only 2 parts last time!

One more of the same to do and the upper torso is done!

And the first post for the year!

Guess it's a bit late, but better late than never! Oh gawd, back to work tomorrow, my desk will probably be covered in a fine layer of dust, and haven't checked my e-mail for weeks... ah, who cares! :p

There are better things to do in life!

Anyway, spent the better part of the day doing my model kit; at least it didn't rain the whole day like yesterday, and had a chance to go down to myVillage to have lunch with the wifey and kid. :)

Pretty time consuming cos of all the teeny little parts and decals to add.... but i think it looks pretty good! :)

Think i need to buy more topcoat though.

Rx-93 Nu Gundam Ver Ka

Been working on this the past coupla days, how long has it been since i last actually built a MG kit from Bandai?

The Nu gundam is the second release in the Master Grade line for the same kit, bit it's been redesigned MUCH more this time round, with Katoki adding his signature 'look' to the kit. But still, it's kinda daunting how many parts actually go into this kit compared to the older MG kits or even any previous model releases.

Whereas previous kits consisted of premoulded features with minimal parts, the newer kits come in components for each section so there's less 'finishing' up of the model to do. That's good in a way, cos i don't have the luxury of time to slowly airbrush and finish up a model nowadays! Plus, all the parts are already moulded in the correct color's so only minor touch-up is needed.

The detail on the kit is pretty darn impressive too, lots of fine panel lines compared to the older kits. Plus water slide decals are provided now (which are of pretty high quality), so bandai has MOSTLY stopped cheaping out with stickers everywhere!

Guess this is gonna be like a weekend project for me, it's tempting to rush through it because the more you build it up, the more complete it gets and theres a temptation to see what the complete part will look like! But i guess i'll take it slow and easy, eventually i'll get to see the final product anyway! ;)

Nu Gundam

Looking good! Although it's still about 3 month's away. This would be it's second iteration in Master Grade form, and one of the many models/toys that have been produced of the Nu Gundam.

The design of the Nu Gundam is one of the few i like in the Gundam universe; simple and elegant! Most new designs don't really appeal to me nowadays... well, maybe Unicorn Gundam does!
