A bit longish but true! Never thought that staying long hours means that one is working hard... it's the opposite anyway! Sadly there's still a lot of old mindsets around... :p ( blogger keeps resizing the image and the quality, here's a link to a clearer pic! )
Ha ! Totally agree... 8 hours work day is a throwback to way back when and really doesnt apply to this day and age.... here in Oz its common for workers here to have flexi working hours (the users - not me though !) - so end up every one got different work pattern all in the name of work-life balance... humans were never meant to sit at a desk for 8 hours a day anyway and seeing as how things are going, this isn't going to change anytime soon unless companies start really putting their money where their mouth is and implement REAL work life balance policies !
ReplyDeleteHaha, same here man, profits over everything else! Gahmen also talk only. WLB is just lip-service to look good for most companies.. you try it and they'll mark you for being 'unproductive'...
ReplyDeleteYeah - try to leave any earlier than 6 PM and you get stares... society has already set the general expectations like so and it's gonna take alot more to change the current concepts. However the powers that be are only interested in the baseline and profit margins and their view is that we are all replaceable and expendable...
