54km AC ride - Final Part

Cruising along Changi Beach was kinda... at least there was a nice sea view and planes passing overhead. The sucky part came after that where there was a longggg 8-10km stretch of straight road which ran parallel to the runway... so although you do get the see a million takeoff's, the monotony of the road does get to you. And i was starting to cramp by this point!

The end of the long path brought a slight reprieve mentally, as it signalled the beginning of the ECP route.. which was not as straight, but was terribly crowded with park goers/skaters/other cyclists. This again was another long stretch down to Fort road (which has a new connector to the barrage, but is not opened yet) but at least the sights and sounds were better.

To continue from there, you had to go up Fort Road to somewhere near Mountbatten; there's a shortcut through a housing block to the Geylang park connector which i've previously been to, it was about 8 plus by this time, and heck i was hungry and thirsty as hell already. So the ride up to Tanjung Rhu, Marina Barrage and to Gardens by the bay was the last leg (literally i felt) of the 54km trip.

From there, it was to the comfort of the Bayfront MRT and a train ride back to Serangoon MRT. Where i had to unfold and ride back home. Would i do it again? Definately, and perhaps it'd be faster as i now know what paths to take there hehe.

54km AC ride - pt 3!

So from Pasir Ris, you'll come out through the Tampines park connector, and a route which will lead you past downtown east, past there, there's a (killer) uphill climb to the beginning of the Loyang PCN.... Man the air there smells funky.

Thankfully it's a downhill ride most of the way here, past Changi air base and then to Changi village itself. A short distance past this, and you'll be at Changi beach, which is kinda nice!

54km ass-crusher ride - pt 2

The weather was thankfully great, it had rained in the morning, but stopped and was mostly cool and cloudly after 4pm hehe.

So after the detour, i crossed the bridge which takes you over to Pasir Ris Farmway 1, from here you had to go past a couple of fish farms, then hit a shortcut which was a short concrete path next to a canal, this would take you to pasir ris drive 3.

Carrying on, there'll be a shortcut along the api api river (yes there's such a place!) which will take you to pasir ris park, which is pretty nice. And they have horse rides there, really.

54km ass-crusher ride - pt 1

Haha, it kinda hurts to sit now really, thankfully i swapped out the default seats for something more comfy.

I started a half hour later than originally planned at 3.30pm; went to get some juice and food for the ride. Then off i rode, initially i wanted to get to punggol park via hougang, then i realised there was a amk-buangkok park connector that led there, so after getting there via tavistock park and a shortcut through serangoon north, i cycled across to punggol park which took about 30mins.

Had already went to the punggol pcn before, so i knew i had to cross the lor halus bridge to get there. Buy i took a short detour to glance at my ex outfield excercise area outside punggol barat, opposite 'coney' island ( ah, fond memories there) my god, they totally changed the place!

Off to ride! Pt2

Wow, turned out to be a pretty nice ride, from old airport road riding along the canal passing Tanjong Rhu then under the Benjamin Sheares bridge, after which is a long stretch along the Marina golf course.

Next comes the ride across the Marina Barrage to Gardens by the Bay.... Awesome.

Off to ride!

Going on a short night cruise from the Geylang Park Connector to the Marina golf course.... Should be interesting! ;) got on the train without much fuss thank goodness.

Biking part deux

So we picked up today at the Punggol PCN, started off at punggol park, which has a link off to the PCN. This stretch is not as long as the Changi one; at least it's not a continuous stretch of road. Nice scenery along the way. Had to stop for a bit cos it rained, but we managed to ride up the the wetlands, almost to punggol beach opposite coney island! Next time! ;)

Pussy likes bike.

Good Friday!

Coupla friends and i decided to go on a trial biking session, starting from east coast park and going through the east park connector network to changi. Man, ECP sure has changed a lot, it's a big clusterfark of ppl, but it does get better on the way to changi.

Nice scenery along the way, and lots of planes landing/taking off too, kinda amazing we still have these spots of nature left.

So after a trip and back of 26km, and some aching wobbly legs, we headed off to the ecp food centre nearby which was packed as expected! Hope to try this again soon!
