Welcome to the Family!

Ahh, have some time to update this blog finally! Our new bundle of joy, Joushua, joined us on the 23rd of February, 2010 at 8.46am in the morning. :)
He's a healthy baby at 3.475kg at birth, although he has slight jaundice (most babies do). He's happily suntanning with a bunch of tiger cohorts in the nursery at KK hospital, but we should be able to pick him back tomorrow! Can't wait! ;)
I can't say i'm ever prepared 100% for baby; i think no one knows what to expect fully also, but as time goes along, i'll do my best to be a good father, mentor, and friend to my son. :)

Huat Ah!

What did i just say? :) Huat is the mandarin "Fa1" in Hokkien (correct me if i'm wrong). It means to prosper! Oh yeah, on this tiny island, unless your daddy's filthy rich, or you touch the lottery, it's the only way to get lotsa moolah nowadays.

CNY is just 2 days away! Why couldn't it be on a Monday instead? But this year i'm not really concerned about house visiting and stuff.. my baby's coming anytime soon, so that's my personal 'huat!'. :)

It's gonna be pretty busy, didn't do THAT much spring cleaning this year, but i think whenever possible we try to stick to tradition.

Tomorrow's the annual Reunion dinner or "Tuan2 Yuan2". Few times in the year where the whole family (at least from the boy's side) meet up for a sumptous meal! :g

I just wonder, what comes after CNY? 2 months again, come and gone... Life's too short man. :p

Russia's new T-50 Fighter

Very ace combat design yeah? Read the full story here and watch the video here.
"Well, three days ago, the AFP and other international news sources reported that the Russians have just test-flown their latest 5th-Gen, low-observable/stealth fighter aircraft, the Sukhoi PAK FA (Prospective Aviation System of Frontline Aviation) prototype, called the T-50, for 47 minutes. Under development since the 1990s, the PAK-FA/T-50 is billed by the Russians as matching up well against the Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor. “It’s going to be no worse than an F-22. I’ve been in an F-22 and I know,” said Anatoly Kornukov, ex-commander of the Russian air force.

Like the F-22, the PAK FA Sukhoi T-50 fighter is capable of supercruise, and should significantly outperform all of our 4th-generation fighters like the F-15, F-16, and F/A-18 series aircraft."

Huat bot!

Huat! Armored VF-1J topped with 2 lucky fishies... :) This is the new 1/60 V2 VF-1J with armored pack, the old 1/48 one and v1 of the 1/60 scale were pretty crap. This one fit very well with nothing dropping off at the slightest touch whew!

Toys are pretty darn expensive now, ah, the good old days when i could get a GIJOE fig for $5. Saving pocket money for a week, i would go to the toy shop at USSC to buy Cobra figures... i've always bought the bad guys only, dunno why. :P

I'm back into collecting LEGO again, it's been a longggggg time. I've had a few space sets back then, always so cool to build it up and have hours of imaginary space adventures! Hope my son can have the same, next time have to support his toy hobby too! :)

Well, it was a quiet Sunday, din go out, recuperated over an exciting Friday/Saturday.. back to slog again tomorrow!

Gundammmmm!

Played an arcade game called "Gundam : Senjo no Kizuna" (Bonds of the battlefield ) today with my buddy colin, the games take place in a gigantic pod with a 180 degree view projected to the front. Can get kinda disorienting as the forward screen really fills your vision. As my buddy said, imagine the possiblity if they had an Xwing simulator using this. ;)
Din really manage to get a co-op game going, coulda used the headset/mike to have comms, that would be cool. Well, right now i'm ranked "二等兵", which is Private 2nd class.. booo! Apparently there are 8 of these pods in Bugis Virtualand, and 4 in AMK HUB? But sadly, looks like the pods will be removed on 21 Feb 2010, i guess demand is not too good.
Well, will try a few more times before it goes, the last fight of the MS 02th Team "Screwheads"! ;)

Why's it called a TIE fighter?

Star wars fans will definately know what the acronym for the empire's
iconic 'cannon fodder' ships is; i mean, even the sound is unique!

It does look like two pieces for cardboard stuck to an egg, that much i'll
admit. Apparently the empire's engineers ain't paid much. :p

But see the following Family Guy clip for what TIE can mean. ;)

Last post for 2009!

Ahh, how time flies. :) In less than 2 hours, we bid farewell to 2009, and welcome a hopefully better 2010! Seeing how the world is now, i hope that people everywhere (especially the so called 'world leaders' get their act together; too much in the world is controlled by the greedy few.

Who knows what to expect? Well, the chinese horoscope seemed to be bad for the past few years (always), so come what may, just bring it on! :)
