LEGO Creator Set : Fairground Mixer

Mmmmm... not really feeling this set. It's the general feel i've been having with LEGO releases for the past 2-3 years already. It's as though the Designers are being told to cut down on cost by reducing the number of bricks used and simplifying the designs, another recent release in point was the Winter Village Market which was just a bunch of seperate fairground stands with a small Merry-go-round. They seem to have lost the large 'granduer' of older sets like the Grand Carousel or Eiffel Tower for example.

Well, maybe it's just a phase for LEGO, they have been around for a long time anyway, and survival in these times is a must.

And so it begins...

Wow, didn't think in my lifetime they'd make a sequel to the Original Trilogy.... will they fark it up or will they do the series justice? Seeing how Lucasfilm just invalidated all that EU crap..... it may be a good start. Hope it doesn't turn out to be a teen flick like that vampire flick.

One thing for sure, under abrams, it'll have tons of... LENS FLAREEEEE!!!!

With products like this, makes you wonder what takabro's doing man. The quality and finishing is excellent, with the moulding sharp and detailed. Parts fit smoothly and don't feel brittle. Packaging is great too! Bot pics lata!

There's also a 'powermaster' like figure included with pretty good articulation and detail too... Schweet... ;)

DAMtoys Op Neptune Spear released!

Woo! Picked up mine today at the usual shop, sweet packaging from DAM as usual, the gear and weapons look great, but can't tell how they fit till i take them out!

HS is not that bad up close actually... Luckily it's not a 'screaming' face. :p not sure where they got the inspiration for a short sleeved tat showing look, but i'd wish they had a version that was not like that!

Biking part deux

So we picked up today at the Punggol PCN, started off at punggol park, which has a link off to the PCN. This stretch is not as long as the Changi one; at least it's not a continuous stretch of road. Nice scenery along the way. Had to stop for a bit cos it rained, but we managed to ride up the the wetlands, almost to punggol beach opposite coney island! Next time! ;)

Good Friday!

Coupla friends and i decided to go on a trial biking session, starting from east coast park and going through the east park connector network to changi. Man, ECP sure has changed a lot, it's a big clusterfark of ppl, but it does get better on the way to changi.

Nice scenery along the way, and lots of planes landing/taking off too, kinda amazing we still have these spots of nature left.

So after a trip and back of 26km, and some aching wobbly legs, we headed off to the ecp food centre nearby which was packed as expected! Hope to try this again soon!

Bike adventures!

Or so i hope to have! Bought a foldie a couple of weeks ago, a 16 speed little guy from Javabikes. Weighs in a little over 11kg, so not too bad. Wheeled it into the mrt and no one stopped me, so that's good.

Not very expensive this, yeah there are more expensive bikes out there, but thought i'd get a cheaper one to get used to first!

Hope to explore around sg with this soon! ;)

Captain America : The Winter Soldier

Caught this last evening, and what can i say? The first one was a nice surprise which i thoroughly enjoyed, this sequel definitely does not disappoint either! The pacing was good, not too many moments where there was no action, but even when there were, these moments gave a bit more insight (haha) into the characters and made them seem more human.

The synergy and banter between the characters was outstanding too, i guess that's after acting in so many movies together hehe. :p For a movie about a guy whose superpower is throwing a shield, this movie gets it right on so many levels. :) It'll be interesting to see how this movie affects the Avengers franchise, and also the SHIELD TV series (although i think that was recently revealed)

Definately a must watch and a bluray buy! 8/10 from me.

PS. There are 2 endings! Remember to stay till after the credits roll too.

Man, this is too sudden! Especially since he just appeared on WWE to accept his recent induction into the WWE hall of fame. RIP Warrior! old school is always the best.

Toosday!

Oh man, nothing much happening over here, although the weather's been alternating between rainy/hot here! Sick weather... :p BF4 has been an.. annoying experience at best recently. Been experiencing the "rubber banding" issue in the Naval Strike maps mostly, this seemed to have happened only recently, although DICE has acknowledged it as a server issue. On top of that, i've been getting random disconnects mid-game for no reason, where this never happened prior to the latest DLC. Oh well. Can't wait for the next Diablo 3 expansion on the console! :p

HobbyMaster F-35

Opened up the die-cast HM F-35 today, 1/72 scale, darn, its bigger than an F-16! Pretty sweet, you can display it in flight or with wheels down. Tons of teeny parts and weapons too... Which kinda begs the question, if its gonna lose stealth with the external hardpoints, won't other platforms do the same job at a lower cost?

BF4 Finally Fixed!

Wow, So DICE released Naval Strike yesterday after a long... delay, but.

THE GAME IS NOW FRICKIN AWESOMEEEEE!

 

So they've finally fixed the one shot bug, I don't seem to get killed around corners now! Aiming is super smooth now too, my ping had dropped to 15-40'ish on most servers, even on the Ugandan servers, god know what voodoo they used, or maybe the tickrate was increased finally!

 

Graphics have also been given a sharp boost, I'm getting average 130-150 fps on ultra, dropping to about 90'ish when the action heats up... man, good job DICE!
