As someone who found the first Thor movie entertaining and refreshing, it was with a little trepidation that I watched the second Thor movie. I was afraid it was going to be like Iron Man, which didn't really live up to the impact the first movie had.
Thankfully, the movie was surprisingly good, with a running time of 120 minutes, you won't realize that two hours have passed as the pacing is relentless, barely leaving you a moment to catch your breath till the next set piece arrives.
The interaction between the actors is great, real screen chemistry. Loki was awesome as usual, and some plot twists here and there which I didn't really see coming. :) Most of the movie is spent away from Earth this time, and maybe they got a bigger budget cos Asgard looks better this time round. The scenery does leave me with a bit of a Lord of the Rings feel though. :p
The only downer was the bit after the first credits run... It felt... cheap and out of place after the lush vistas the were presented previously.. I know its a tie in to the next upcoming movie, but was it necessary? No wonder even the director hated it and made clear it was the studios who put it there and not him!
Oh, and stay AFTER that for one more extra scene. :)
