One interesting lesson; Pontius pilate was by no means a bad person, he never wanted to jesus to be put to death, but pressure from the crowd and the desire not to lose his job forced him to go against his conscience....
I think in life, there are a lot of instances where this happens to us too. Fear of losing the status quo also makes us afraid to stand up for whats right.
We can only pray when the time comes, we will stand up for what we believe in, and not let innocents suffer because of external factors!
