Cruising along Changi Beach was kinda... at least there was a nice sea view and planes passing overhead. The sucky part came after that where there was a longggg 8-10km stretch of straight road which ran parallel to the runway... so although you do get the see a million takeoff's, the monotony of the road does get to you. And i was starting to cramp by this point!
The end of the long path brought a slight reprieve mentally, as it signalled the beginning of the ECP route.. which was not as straight, but was terribly crowded with park goers/skaters/other cyclists. This again was another long stretch down to Fort road (which has a new connector to the barrage, but is not opened yet) but at least the sights and sounds were better.
To continue from there, you had to go up Fort Road to somewhere near Mountbatten; there's a shortcut through a housing block to the Geylang park connector which i've previously been to, it was about 8 plus by this time, and heck i was hungry and thirsty as hell already. So the ride up to Tanjung Rhu, Marina Barrage and to Gardens by the bay was the last leg (literally i felt) of the 54km trip.
From there, it was to the comfort of the Bayfront MRT and a train ride back to Serangoon MRT. Where i had to unfold and ride back home. Would i do it again? Definately, and perhaps it'd be faster as i now know what paths to take there hehe.
