Ah, how apt that my PC decided to 'up lorry' the night before.. this happened after trying to start a round of BF4 of course, but goes to show MS software is STILL cluttered crap that crashes whenever it pleases... oh well, at least the re-installs aren't as often as during the XP days! :p
Day was spent at Botanic Gardens with the family.. NOW i know where certain people go to for their picnics! OMG, anyway, it was pretty crowded there, where in Sillypore isn't? The Orchid garden was not too shabby though, although you had to PAY to go in, thank god for complimentary tickets! :)
Dude managed to get your rig back up and running ? What happened ? Thats the problem with PCs man... I think that Operating Systems should be self-diagnosing and self-reparing - I think the powers that be won't allow this kind of technology to be available because they stand to lose alot of revenue from software support... create the problem so they can solve the problem and earn more $$$$... anyways, botanic gardens should be a nice place for landscape and macro photography !
ReplyDeleteMan, it's something to do with the way windows Vista/7 works, they have something called TDR (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/hardware/ff570088(v=vs.85).aspx) which sort of auto restarts the GPU, problem is, it doesn't always work as advertised and gives itself a lot of false alarms! Thanks MS... that and the code for BF4 still sucks! ;)
ReplyDeleteWah.. why would the OS need to 'restart' the GPU ? Darn MS ! I guess if it is a silent re-initialisation and it works it's fine.. but it's MS ! Argh - lag and hit detection still SUCKS for BF4... DICE even postphoned the double XP event in Dec ! WTF DICE ?
