Another iteration of the A-wing for next year! It's prob gonna cost near the $50 mark cos of the number of minifigs included... plus the Star Wars license is expensive anyway. Still, looks like they did a better job of replicating the curved surface of the A-Wing!
Picked one of these up at Barnes & Noble yesterday in their educational toys & games department. The list price is only $26.95 despite the three minifigs, but I'm not surprised at the lower price point. The A-wing only uses 177 pieces compared to the 560 of the X-wing (which goes for $60), and size-wise is closer to the Imperial V-wing, which retailed for about the same.
ReplyDeleteThe new model does a much better job of replicating the A-wing's overall shape, including the "split lip" on the leading edge of the ship's nose, something that previous LEGO models didn't get right. The extra minifigs were nice, especially the inclusion of Admrial Ackbar (cue the "IT'S A TRAP!" jokes).
Yeah! It looks so much better than the previous version, too bad prices here are atrocious. :( The Han minifig seems out of place though?
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure why they included Han, but I'm not going to complain about it. I just recently began purchasing the Star Wars sets, so it was a nice bonus.
ReplyDeleteI didn't realize you're from Singapore. The price I quoted was in US dollars; not sure what that will translate to in your currency. But if you can get your hands on it, it's definitely worth it.
Terribly addictive yeah? ;) I mostly collect the sets from EP IV-VI only, phew! :)
