One game i spent countless hours on during my secondary school days was "X-wing" (1993) by then indie game studio Lucasarts. I remember running it on my old 486-SX25 with 8MB (Yes, 8MB) ram.. did i mention it was run from (five) 3.5" diskettes? CD-ROM technology was only emerging then, and only much later on the compilations did they release it to CD.Xwing was followed by Imperial pursuit and Bwing; the graphics then were revolutionary, (well, to me at least) the music was great and it handled flawlessly... It was followed by the equally successful TIE fighter game series, then Xwing vs Tie fighter and finally stopped at Xwing Alliance (Which i have yet to complete).
It's been like, over 10 years? And FINALLY, a good piece of news... with today's technology, it's about time!!!

Hmm.. the guy from LucasArts was rather vague about plans for a X-Wing or TIE Fighter re-release with a "modern" make-over :P It would be great but I'm not holding my breath :)
