Caught the new Star Trek movie today by JJ Abrams, decided to watch it after generally favourable reviews... plus i find TNG and Enterprise pretty cool to watch anyway. :) (No, i'm not a trekkie!)This movie IS a reboot from the original series, without too many spoilers, i can say that it's an alternate timeline or reality from TOS. They've also got a new younger cast for the crew, chief of all is Chris Pines as James T. Kirk and Syl... uh, Zachary Quinto as Spock. Most of the other characters are ok, maybe a bit overacted ( esp. Uhura who was like a stuck up beyotch in heat, and Leonard "I'm a Doctor, not a physicist" McCoy.)
But the pacing was good, and the action non-stop. This took away the smaller flaws in the movie and made it immensely fun to watch. Thumbs up, definately more interesting than wolverine, i'd give this show a 7.5/10.
