Bandai DX Chogokin YF-30 Chronos

Given this only appears in the Macross 30th Game, I think it's kinda brave Bandai is releasing a new mould! It's been a while but at least it's progressed to the CAD stage. Looks pretty good! Bring on the repaints haha! :)

Since they've got the product pics out, and the list of accessories, I guess the PO for this will start appearing soon? It'll be under their Elite series I guess. Only peeves are the HS looks weeeeird and gear is too clean.. well, nothing a bit of weathering won't fix!

Haha, interesting too, his gear is taken from the book No Easy Day... look for the photo in the book hehe.

Not that snake! The one who started the cool, lone-wolf hero archetype which so many other comics/movies/games try to copy! Anyway, the Escape from movies are kind cool.. in a cheesy 80's way of course! :)

Now sideshow is adding snake to their 1/6 line, I wonder if the HS is sculpted with help from HT?

Hasegawa VF-25F/S

Another sweet model kit, though kudos to Bandai for making their die-cast version's pretty darned detailed! Of course, the plastic kit is more realistic in terms of the detail and finishing, then again, you'll probably need a good few days to do a proper build!

 

Weird Tales of the Third Reich!

Well, we've all heard all the weird stories surrounding Hitler's obsession with the Occult and Supernatural, heck, it's the game Spear of Destiny that actually made me realize it was based off an actual object and occurrence back in WW2! I mean, some things are hard to explain right? Germany WAS technologically ahead then with the earliest cruise missiles and jet engines when the rest of the world was using standard technology... Makes on wonder! :p

Macross VF-27 Lucifer

Another toy that i took out recently to fiddle around with recently; it's sitting now along with the others in the cabinet! This is the renewal version, but as pointed out online, there are only slight improvements over the first release.

This version comes with the super packs, slightly readjusted legs and some different markings to name a few differences. Transformations not as clean as the vf-25, but still acceptable. Also, the price has actually dropped online a bit, so nows a good time as any to pick one up. :)

Ace Combat : Yellow 13

Oh sweet, Hasegawa is gonna release 13 from AC4! :) Darn why can't they have a pre-built version? Don't have time to do this nowadays, especially with the kiddies hands getting everyone haha! :p

 

Knock Off Transformers Masterpiece Toys!

On the topic of Transformers MP toys, there have been a spate of cheap MP's suddenly flooding the market (Not THOSE MP who we know are also cheap KO's). I think this started with the Tigertrack exclusive fig, which was rather abundant on the market, and which people noticed, had a pretty sloppy paint job.

Looks like that's not the only one, and it won't be the last, this is what happens when you place all your manufacturing facilities in one country and underpay the workers haha! Scary though, so please take note!

 

TGIF! Battle of Ganjgal

TGIF! Friday is here and the weekend is almost upon us woohoo! ;)

Pretty awe-inspiring stuff this, to see people risk their life and limb to help other people.. at least there's some honor in their service huh?

Masterpiece Prowl!

Finally opened MP prowl! Again, the engineering that goes into the MP's is pretty amazing. The parts they can cram into a car shaped object is pretty cool. :p

Paint job is good, though mine had a blotch on the thigh, otherwise articulation and all really sweet on this. :) can't wait for the other two to be released!

Wednesday! Woohoo!

Was on Off in lieu today, so went out with the kiddies to town to walk/look around, man, it's nice not having to fight the crowd on a weekend!

Anyway, was at Cold Storage in Taka, and I heard the darndest thing! It was hard to describe, but the were playing some Star Wars songs... in a strange Techo-Country-Orchestral version! OMG it's hard to describe, can you imagine the friggin' cantina theme like that? It was surreal!

I must search for it on Youtube haha! :p

Linkin Park Soundwave

I know Linkin Park is into Anime and stuff; they've done a few collaborations before, one of them being a Gundam model. This Soundwave figure is the classic G1 figure with a coupla tapes... in garish gold. It's been shown some time ago but it's just released? Supposed to be limited or something also to 2000 pieces. But still... gold?

 

Rainy Monday!

Oh man, kinda sucked to get out of bed this morning! When the pitter-patter started early this morning, the urge to sleep in just increased, PLUS I had to drop off my boy at school! Oh man! Anyway, it's a public holiday tomorrow at least, so another night to sleep in/game on!

Macross Frontier VF-25G

Found some time to open this up and transform it to the various modes, pretty much the same but the color scheme is sweet. This is the Sniper variant, so it come with a big-ass rifle which I didn't take out, and also with a different head unit. Armor parts should be out next month!

It's Friday! (Finally)

I think age is catching up on me haha, whereas in my yoof, I used to be more energetic on Friday's, it seems to be the opposite nowadays; I actually get more drained from Mon-Thur, and Friday's become so... lethargic for me. :p

 

Anyway, there's a holiday to look forward to next Tuesday!

 

In other news, Hot Toys has a shopfront opened in HK called Secret Base, pretty cool, will definitely visit one day! :)

Mrowar! Another Catwoman this time from Sideshow Collectibles! This probably will be more durable than the HT release which i heard has parts fragile as hell. :p But the look is from the more recent looks of Catwoman from the comic and video games. Still, looks good!

 

DAMToys Devgru Red Team

The Hanger just opened a preorder for a DT Exclusive figure, the ST6 Red Team Warfighter. Um, it looks good on first glance of course, until someone mentioned it was using a cartoon like head much like 3A's... yeeeesh. Maybe there will be a regular release for this? Hopefully! :p And someone should take advantage of the upcoming release of BF4 to release 1/6 figs! Please already.

 

It'sa Toosday!

And more YF-19 mechapRon! It's looking sweet, though i'm not getting it from the usual supplier haha! Anyway, finally started up GTA V, after the killer 8.5GB install which took sooooo long, the game finally started. What can I say? Graphically way better than the last few, I mean, the PS3 can still do this? Of course, the textures, resolution and framerate ain't great, but it's pretty good for the PS3... man, this will look glorious on the PC!

 

So far, just doing a few missions and driving around. There's too much to do and see hehe... :p

 

 

 

Masterpiece prowl!

Prowl was out in sg last week, but falc's brought theirs in on Monday to clear a backlog of stuff; their shop floor is filled with boxes now haha! Anyway, the usual freebies came with this release; the coin and the extra shoulder cannon. More pics when i open it!

Anywayz, some mecha pRon for the start of the weekend! The pricing for the YF-19 is out, gonna be 34,400yen... ouch that is a lot, but still, the usual retailers will have their discounts and such! It's gonna be sweet.. although I have their previous versions already. :p

Man, was kinda surprised that he had passed away, there was no news of him being in bad health or anything. Still, kudos to the man that brought the world of Espionage and special ops to readers and gamers everywhere! I think the only book I read through was Rainbow Six, which was pretty awesome, otherwise, it's mostly the games! Ahh... countless nights planning the perfect op on the PC. :) RIP Mr Clancy
