Operation I.G.I

I dunno why, but some time ago, i was suddenly thinking of this First Person Shooter i played during my Secondary School days or so, i just couldn't remember the name of the game! All i could recall, is some parts where you ziplined down these powerlines to reach objectives...

.... then i saw a youtube video of FPS'es, and found out it was called Project IGI! Haha, i vaguely remember the game being kinda fun, but it's too long ago to recall any details about it!

PS4 (Sorta) Unveiled!

So the Playstation 4 has been announced, well, not too excited over it compared to the PS3, but still, should be interesting to see what it offers; just having high end graphics ain't gonna cut it any more.

Actually, the only new hardware they showed was the controller (which does look pretty cool) and the camera/sensor. Hopefully they have have saved the best for last with the actual PS4 set! :)

Autoart Red Bull X2010

Now this is pretty sweet! Autoart is making a 1:18 scale model of the Red Bull prototype X2010 car which was featured in GT5. Details look awesome, but will prob be killer expensive! :)

There will be 5 versions of the car, just different paint jobs, the white version is really sweet.

Sunday oh Sunday!

Having spent the week off, i can tell you two things : 1) Time definately passes faster when you are doing something you actually like 2) The feeling of dread from going to work DOES exist! Oh well, hopefully the week will go by in a jiffy!

 

At least i managed to (finally) get the Nu Gundam up! Mostly at least!

Metroplex!

Looks like they're releasing a metroplex under the Transformers Generations line! It's supposed to be "The biggest transformer ever!" too. Too bad they didn't really innovate on the transformation sequence, and basically took what the classic metroplex could do.. and just made it look the same haha! :) Still, at $125 USD it's quite ok.

CNY Day 1

Day started a bittt earlier than i was used to! Cos my auntie at Portchester catered this year, so they wanted us to go over earlier. :p Lots of people there this year, most of my cousins kids are already over 6 months and growing, and have another cousin then expecting next month. :)

After that it was to my grandads old place at Hougang, also a buffet there, but was well-fed this year haha! Started to rain though throughout the day; it's a chilly 27 degrees celcius as i type this... not VERY cold, but for sillypore it is a low. :)

Eve of the eve!

Just another 2 more days to the Lunar New Year! Time flies; it seemed to have sneaked up on us this year pretty quickly, i remember it being at the end of Jan last year, but it seemed faster this time somehow.

 

Pretty much a rainy day... no, make that a tropical storm today. Places were flooded, and visibility was no more than 150-200m. Rochester was flooded to knee-deep! Haha, you can't fight mother nature!

Ace Combat - Assault Horizon Enh PC



Looks good so far! They have the YF-23 modeled so that's a good-to-go from me! The res is higher for the jets and all, including the texture resolution, but some textures on the characters seem a bit muddy to me.

 

 

The Razgriz skinned Shinden II is there! Cool. :)

SU-35 Super Flanker

... or whatever it's called nowadays! But still always impressive! It's crazy something that weighs over 20 tonnes can fly so nimbly like that... and more importantly, the airframe doesn't crumble under the G-forces exerted on it. The service life of the airframe must be super short. :p

F-Toys A-wing Starfighter

Did this a while ago but stopped a bit cos i didn't have some of the colors! Painted the cockpit area which was plain white, and decided to paint up the lasers to follow the studio model.

The A-wing's kinda tiny compared to the likes of the Y or B-wing's... it's meant to be that way of course, since it's primary role is that of an interceptor/hit and run fighter, and it's "two engines strapped to a cockpit". :p

This was quite a fast touch up cos of it's size, but fun nonetheless! :)

New Stealth Fighter?

Hehe, looks like Iran has gone and built themselves an RC plane  stealth fighter! See for yourself here, well, looks very Ace Combat'ish, but very interesting observations like, it's so small, where's the space for the radar?

Gotta admit though, they're great at building mock-ups!

Picked this up from the mart just now, inspired to do a kitbash from ZDT, most of the gear is generally there, needs to be dirtied up though, the M416 looks good, though i'd probably swap out the 'steve austin' HS! And pink gloves.... Why? :p

Looks like it's out over in HK? That means prob another month or so for the release here! From the pics of the production version, it looks pretty good! At least not so much of a deviation from the prototype. The poseability looks good too! :)

MP-13 Soundwave mini review

So, finally got down to opening up the latest bot from the Masterpiece line, and the first thing you'll notice is... how light the box feels? Seriously, upon opening the box, you'll find it mostly filled with AIR... like what YAMATO used to do with their old valkyries.

 

Soundwave comes in a plastic tray in the box, along with laserbeak, couple of weapons and accessories and an energon cube. I wonder if there's such a need to have such excessive packaging for this; it'd probably be better if they shipped him in his cassette player mode rather than the robot mode, and that would save most people on shipping costs (which goes by volume by the way, not weight).

 

Taking soundwave out of the tray, you'll notice most of the weight is down at his feet, otherwise everything else is plastic. A sharp contrast to the first MP-1, which was jam packed with die cast parts, and had a certain heft to it! Maybe it's me, but the plastic that soundwave is made out of seems... cheap. Really, it looks cheap, but maybe it's cos of the type of plastic they used? Lambor and Red Alert seemed to have better finishes overall.

 

On to the figure itself, yeah, it looks pretty great actually. Notwithstanding the plasticky look, i think they generally caught the look and proportions of Soundwave pretty well. He can take up to three cassettes this time, so it'd be cool when the other cassettes are shipped!

 

Now, laserbeak is awesome, i think they've outdone themselves on the transformation sequence for this bird. :) Whereas you had to stick on the backpack/guns on the classic version, this one has everything packed into the body... PLUS they've added that little cam built into the head which can be flipped out.. very cool.

 

Overall, i'd give this figure a 7/10, is it worth the prices it's going for now? (i saw it at $280 last week at CSC) I don't think so. At most, this figure should be sold for is at $200. Still, it's worth picking up as it is currently the best incarnation of Soundwave.
