Shanghai - Day 3

On day 3 after work, we went to Lujiazui to look-see their financial/shoppping district. Decided to be a bit more adventurous, so took their MRT there... cheap! Only 4 RMB and pretty fast, bout a 20min ride. :) Their train system is definately as good as ours, at least their signboards indicate the exact time the train is arriving, and the 2nd and 3rd train timings too. Not generic timings like here... :p

Once you step out of the station, the first thing that catches your eye is the Oriental Pearl TV Tower.... really beautiful in the night. Lotsa people taking photos of it. Next time i must go up the tower to the observation deck!

Went to one of the malls (Super Mall) to look for dinner, mostly expensive branded stuff, there's a Lotus at the basement selling groceries, as i mentioned, they close early here! So had to do with whatever eatery we could find. :p

Shanghai Trip - Day 2

Headed to the old office at The Bund Center to check on the progress of the packing, place is definately more central and has more amentities than the new office; there's a Starbucks (A REAL one) and a Family Mart downstairs. From there we followed a vendor in his beat up toyota to the new office.

It was 7+ by time we left office, pretty 'late' by time we decided to go out. Walked around the area and eventually headed back to the "Ri Yue Guang" mall to have dinner! It was a udon shop which sold various alacarte tempura fried items, and it's pretty good! Too bad the shop was closing already. On that note, the shops here close darn early! By 9pm+ they're already starting to pack up. :P

Shanghai - Day 1

Day one in Shanghai! Here for  a work trip  to help the new office with their shifting. :) Staying at Pullman hotel, which is pretty close to the new office. Weather's nice and cool, like permanent airconditioning outside! A tee and a jacket were ok for the first day. Shanghai's pretty much modern and cosmopolitan like Singapore. One things for sure, the traffic heres about as bad, and the drivers honk their horns ALL the time! Oh, and cars have the unofficial right of way! ;p

Snaaaaakkkke!

Picked up the Kai Arts MGS Snake from the usual place yesterday, figure is pretty cool apart from it being kinda big; guess i'll have to get used to the scale the Squenix uses for their figs! :p

Detail on the fig is pretty good, especially for the texture on the face, they're getting close to the quality level and detail for HOT TOYS stuff.

Should have given more armaments though! Only the FAMAS G2 and SOCOM included.... wheres the stinger, Nikita and PSG-1? :p

Next up is Meryl, prob followed by Raiden and Solidus!

Have not touched my consoles in a bit; at least i fire up my PS3 more ofter than my 360. I think it still works! Went to Plaza Sing to check out the Star Wars Kinect launch 2 days ago.... Man, it kinda sucks. The Kinect Sensor can't pick out movement fast enough, so the 'saberfighting' looks kinda retard. It's also prescripted crap by the way, you can't choose how you want to fight, just follow the on screen prompts! :P I think the best part of the game IS unfortunately, the dance section.... Why!!!!????!!

Anywayz, BF3 is coming out with a couple of new expansions starting June. And they've starting patching the game for the release. Am downloading 1.04 for BF3 as i type this. Man, all the guns/attachments have been re-tweaked again!

I also just found out that EA has made the unlocks something you can BUY now... way to go EA! Anything for more $$$ huh? In a way, i guess it'll help those who started the game late.

Well, Diablo III is coming out in May.... that's when the birth rate around the world will have a sudden, shocking drop! ;)

DX VF-171

Bandai will be releasing a DX class VF-171 from the Macross Frontier series, very sweet! Pre-0rdered from the usual place as everywhere else was sold out!

Macross stuff from Bandai seems to be getting better as time goes on, definately catching up with Yamato. But they're $$$ hoes cos they keep releasing "Exclusives" that are expensive, and sometimes a pain in the butt to find! Not to mention countless recolors/variants/improvements etc.

Well, guess that's the way in the toy industry. Toy prices generally seem to be on the up, why not my salary? :P
