Beerfest 2011 *Hic*!

Woohoo! Was at Beerfest last nite and must say, had quite a blast! The booze was good and the company even bettah! ;)

Highlight of the night was the mini concert by the "Killer Queens"; a group of Queen impersonators who i must say i pretty good, especially the lead who is almost a mirror image of Freddie Mercury!

Wish i could try out more booze! There's always next year! :D

Yamato Macross 1/60 VF-X

Picked up the Macross Chronicle Magazine exclusive VF-X fighter by yamato; previously only available through the mag, some retailers somehow managed to smuggle some through!











The VF-X began as a program to replace the VF-1 fighters in use by the UN Spacy in the Macross universe, from what i can gather, there were four built, named VF-X-1 to VF-X-4. I wonder if this has any relation to the PS game "Macross Digital Mission VF-X"? Check out the still awesome OP here.











Anyway it's painted in a unique grey scheme, too bad no space to display for now! :p

Efx Stormtrooper Helmet (ESB ver)

Picked this up a while ago, thought it was too cool to pass up! You know, when i was young and saw Star Wars for the first time, i always thought Stormtroopers were robots, i still remember telling my mum that too when she bought the stormtrooper figure for me at Galleries Lafayette (Now called United Square).

This is a wearable version of the helmet... you know i can't resist putting it on! ;)

Well at least i know why stormtroopers are such bad shots; can't see a darned thing through the eyepieces! :p I think i'll wear this for my last ICT this year...

Starcom Euro Figure 2-packs

Been a while since i posted any Starcom related stuff!

Picked up coupla carded euro 2-paks from Evilbay not too long ago. Didn't really have time to take pics until now. These figures were released in 1989 when Mattel took over from Coleco. Released only in UK and Europe, most were repaints of existing figures, and some were also packed into vehicles minus the weapons packs.

On the left pic from top, the pink guy is Capt Howl, the robot below is Capt Hydrone. On the right the orange suited guy is just.... "Hammer", the guy in white below him is "Yank". They're pretty cool still, and the rarer sets fetch a small ransom on evilbay!

AR Parrot Drone

Woohoo! Didn't expect it so soon, but nice surprise anyway for a Monday. :) The box is slim but big! Kinda knew what it was when i first saw it. Haha, delivered by USPS too, was worried that it'd get lost or something!









The set comes with the main body with the outdoor body and indoor body kit, there's a LiPO charger/balancer and one 1100mAh batt (which i know won't be enough). There's also a quickstart guide and stickers to paste on the body of the frame so that it can be detected during the AR game portions. Controller? Haha, it's the iPhone or iPad, cool huh?

Guess the only time i can take it for a spin is this weekend! Can't wait!

Uncharted 3

The Uncharted series has always been a great blend of action and good storytelling, the last two in the franchise were stellar and were a real blast to play through! Unlike the Tomb Raider series, which sort of imploded on itself by coming out with too many too fast, the Uncharted series has a good pace, and believable characters to boot, not to mention the lore behind all the mysteries in the game!

So come November, we can prepare ourselves to be in the shoes of our favorite anti-hero Nathan again, and i hope this round is as good or better than the last two! There'll be a collector's edition as pictured above, i bet the Asian collector's ed will be crap as it usually is. :P

LEGO Hoth Base

Coming soon! More Star Wars Lego to make your wallet cry! :) Ok, at least this one looks more substantial than the ominously numbered Lego 7666, I guess this is the interior to the exterior of 7666?

One thing i noticed though, a lot of reused pieces from other sets out there, but luke in the Bacta tank is still cool nonetheless.
